Sacking Powell might not be the answer but Matautia, Dufty, Dudson especially have been on thin ice for some time - Powell needs to swing the axe.
We have been off the pace for a long time now. Despite all those marquee signings, all that full salary cap, all the marketing hype, all the new ideas, all that expectation, and 3 coaches we have 1 piece of silverwear in 11 long years.
The most annoying thing for me, for all the money spent on reinventing this team, our best player is Josh Thewlis and we are playing him out of position and readily dropping him. Last year for Wrench (centre/SR) and Minikin (centre) and this year for Russell and again Wrench.
Behind that, Ashton, Walker and Wrench are bright sparks too, all pre-dating the need to cull. The only players here on the back of the current regime’s recruiting that is delivering to the required standard are Vaughan and you could argue Kasiano and Harrison in spells.
Got to say that it was poor today and what worries me most about this performance is the complacent attitude of our players. They thought, with 1 man down, that the game was won. I think Powell and the players need a hig performance next game to appease the fans who are rightly concerned now given our form over the past 2 months.
I'm still Powell in as I believe he needs the opportunity to turn things around, but I also empathise with those who are disillusioned and want change. If he were to be sacked now, then we'll never truly know whether he was the right choice.

Absolutely this. Powell is a very poor judge of player

Genuine question, no trolling or petty nonsense.
Based on what you have seen so far, from the appointment in April 2021 through to today, should he get a contract renewal at the end of the season, or should the club be looking for replacements?

I'd say he should be given to at least the end of the season to turn things around. If it's still like this around the playoff time, then I would support the club if they wished to change manager. I think, at this point, he has just about enough credit in the bank.
I'm also getting a bit concerned with the performances of Paul Vaughan who doesn't seem the same. Big game next week.

Thewlis is clearly a rugby player, he will be an excellent super league player for a top side. Anyone can see this. Powell likes to keep him on the periphery and sign a full back when Thewlis should be nailing that spot as his own for a decade. I conclude Daryl Powell is out of his depth. Get gone.
Let’s not forget Cooper Hill and Clark forced out (SLs best front row) and the likes of Minkin, Russell and now Dwyer brought in. Has he got money on us getting worse? Buffoon and a buffoon board.
