On 2nd viewing ... We were unfortunate to have three tries chalked off for "tiny" fingertip touches which would have changed the game. In addition their final try was way forward but not given. Naiqama, Facebook & Pryce (attacking on the right) where their attacking threat. Though we were easily undone on the left for the Cudjoe try in the first half.
I did & very interesting. He does look as though he switches off a bit. Defence has to be a joint responsibility though as the FB can't be everywhere & he's going to get tied up in the tackle but the main organiser role is key. He's not made as many long distance runs of late & he could do with one as he looks a bit short of confidence.
stupid quote button isn't working, the numbers thing does bare out, the cudjoe try seemed to be the same thing as what wells pointed out, yes we all blamed matautia or wrench at the game, but they did seem to be outnumbered by about 2 attackers, so there's something in this.
you're right though, he does look like he needs a confidence booster an arm round his shoulder, his attitude and body language stank when harrison didn't offload to him for williams try, everyone else ran through to celebrate, he stood there sulking.

Yes, Dufty was not a happy bunny when Harrison didn't pass to him. It's a pity we aren't coming up with better ways to take advantage of the pace we have in the side at the moment through Dufty, Ashton, Wrench and Thewlis. Kick plays can sometimes be a great option, such as the simple but effective one that provided Jai Field's try for Wigan on Friday. A few planned moves like that, not over-used, would give defences a bit more to think about.

Just watched the game and agree on both points. In a non-televised game two of the three no-tries would actually have been given and Huddersfield's final try was definitely off a forward pass.
Yep. The analysis of Dufty organizing the defensive line was interesting. A lot of talk about communication (or lack of) but to me there also looks like a lack of urgency. I know Phil Clarke had his view on Dufty's ability to create tries but he has shown that ability. I know that other teams have switched positions during games. I think Field and French sometimes swap between wing and FB or SO in game. Maybe it is worth considering Dufty on the wing and Thewlis at Fullback but with the option to bring Dufty in to a pivot role on some attacking plays. I know that Powell used to switch Shenton and Turner between wing and centre and this is a bit more dlradical
As for Ashton & Thewlis ,they both show creativity & are good at making space for themselves , Would they be better in a more central position to break down defences? There is talent & toughness in our youngsters.
