I knew it was going to be a very close call because to put it bluntly there just isn't enough talent and will in the squad to get over any kind of injury crisis. Again, most of the criminal errors come from some of the most senior players on the pitch. This has been the case all season. Whether this will add up to "Rohan out" in the minds of the board, I do not know. I would suggest that the before they go in that direction they take time to access who else might be available. As it stands I can't think of any available candidates. The fact remains that the squad desperately requires real quality and pace. Without that I don't see any coach making a spectacular difference. I know fans will always want the coaches head on a spike, but it's the same group of players who are the recurring factor in our continuing woe.
Excellent posting, I haven’t changed my view that Smith should be given till the end of season. I have watched Leeds for years and have witnessed some poor teams, mediocre teams and superlative teams. Must admit this bunch are the stupidest lot I have ever seen. It’s time some of the players stood up and started performing. IT’s crossed my mind that some of them are top notch performers in front of the south stand roaring them on. Playing away from home they aren’t prepared to roll up ,get stuck in and do the hard graft. Replacing Smith at this stage would be counter productive, after all who would be available at this stage of the season . Putting JJB on the board what’s the benefit in that. Not a good time to be a rhinos fan, however any hasty wrong decision could set us back a couple of seasons.
I'm a big advocate for Smith and still reckon he needs time to bring in his own players, On the flip side I don't know anyone whos available to come in either, we need to stop trying to do everything on the cheap and go out there and spend and make the team as attractive on the pitch as it is off it! GH has been using these bargain bin signings since 2016 and some will blame the new stadium but he will find out very quickly that that shiny new stadium will start to empty out if the product on the field is dross! I think Smith is culpable for a lot though, this passive defence approach does nothing to help us out with teams often making 70+ metres each set, meaning when we do get ball in hand we have to go the full stretch, which is why we look for these off the cuff plays to try to make more yardage which doesn't help with our handling errors. You can see what Smith is trying to achieve and we saw it best at the Cats game, but today the players just didn't seem up to it, and that's not what you expect from professionals.

The next one of our weekly kit releases should be a "I'm With Stupid" addition.
I think teams have worked out the passive defence plan and being able to make easy metres breeds confidence in the opposition. Once a team gets to or near an edge we freeze, start going backwards, a couple of passes to a second row can make 15-20 metres by doing nothing. A kick to the corner and a hard charge and we are put under pressure. Again today we had very little ball in their 22. Many of our sets are sluggish and easy to stop.
Arthur is right about senior players making lots of errors. Austin and Martin again made plenty . The 2 kick offs Martin did not deal with changed the game in the second half.

We should/could have had 3 tries in the first 10 minutes and our senior players bombed all 3. Likewise what the hell was Handley doing kicking on the 2nd or 3rd tackle? Far too many basic errors from seasoned professionals. Why on earth didn`t Hooley and Sinfield get in the 17? Once again picking players in any position just so they get a game is becoming farcical now. Hooley needed to play today or play Myler FB. Handley on the wing, Martin in the pack and Sinfield in the halves. It`s not rocket science is it? Thank goodness we have enough points on the board otherwise we could be looking at relegation.
If Leeds had 17 Donaldson’s we’d be ok. No great shakes by any means, but 100% every carry and tackle. Looked absolutely fuming at the end and rightly so.

Pretty much the same players who made a similar statement on Agar. Bit of a theme there. Whatever happens re the coach the senior players within the current crop have no consistency or resilience.
