Irrespective of whether we sack Powell or not, the truth is we are unlikely to win the GF nor will we finish bottom.
We'll probably be among the best of the rest.
Whether that is sufficient to keep Powell in a job is probably subjective. All I'd say is neither Justin Holbrook or Kristan Woolfe were on anyones radar until Saints appointed them, so the argument that there's no-one else to appoint doesn't hold water, I'm afraid.

We're happy to have a guy who won nothing but made Castleford better than they used to be(oh, apart from the 90s when they won stuff!). Hope that wasn't obtuse
Who's the 3rd coach Moe? Magic Superbeetle has named 2 to help you out.
2 of those were Hanley and Millward around 20+ years ago (I think) - a long time ago. Let me remind you of this posted a few pages back in response to one of my posts:

It's just my BS detector always rises in pitch when you post Moe.

So are you seriously suggesting that a top 4/5 finish and a semi final play off appearance wouldn't be acceptable and would have Powell out of his job?... He has to basically win the GF in order to be secure in his job for 2024?
And so you aim towards the sky, And you'll rise high today, Fly away, Far away, Far from pain....

I don't think the warm weather is agreeing with you, go change into your looser underwear. I said it was subjective, so a good run in the playoffs and/or the CC may be good enough for some.
Personally, I think we should be aiming higher, given the personnel. And given the age of some of the stalwarts of the team, if we don't do it soon we are back to a rebuild.
I'm sorry, the bit I quoted from your post seems to suggest we should be questioning Powell's role if we end up as 'best of the rest', which means not actually winning the GF?

Right folks, i can see that there's going to be a revival of HAPPY CLAPPERS vs THE NAY SAYERS, those that share the same disbelief in knowledge and common sense in each other, but both ends of the spectrum, it can be discussed, but there will be no name calling, no dismissive insulting statements.
Converse and debate politely, we're not having a return to last year.
This will be posted across the threads where needed.

At the start of the season, almost every poster on here…bar me, expected and predicted Wire to be somewhere between 4th to 8th, most predicted us 6th… So why so many of you are unhappy about over achieving and is bizarre…!
There ought to be only one person on here unhappy….me! I predicted top and for Wire to finish top ‘comfortably’ top and with the CC and GF.
Wire are no longer at the top!!

After the match Powell said that Philbin was a doubt for next week (shoulder) and that Kasiano had a rib injury, so it was decided not to risk him. Drinkwater was also withdrawn with an ankle injury but Powell expects both Drinkwater and Kasiano to be available next week.

Hull fan, I come in peace. I think Hull deserve a bit of credit on here, Wire pummelled them first half ,but apart from the early two tries held firm. I thought they would be knackered after all that, but they came out fighting second half. After the recent loss of seven on the trot and the recent revival a bit of credit where it is due.
