But then you would think that taking so few carries, every week, would make him doubly determined to get more involved in the next match but it doesn’t seem to change? Is that down to the way we play?
I had such high hopes for him, but he may be one of those players that flatter to deceive, when they break into the team and may have reached his level. Callum Lancaster was the same, a winger that scored prolifically, when he came through but never went anywhere. I do hope Lane does find his best form, it can only be a good thing if so, but, as we have little option to replace him, it is an obvious weakness in the fabric of that edge that good teams exploit.
