I any game there are always areas where improvements could have been made - that's sport. Given the circumstances - depleted side with 3 further injuries during the game - one to the only playmaker on the side that is a tough ask to have an organised attack. The team gave it their best shot and narrowly lost.

I think that really could be a galvaniser.
If we have even one ‘proper’ halfback on the pitch we knick that. Given the patched together nature of the side by the end I think I’d reserve critics of them not managing to get a drop goal over.

The only real negative for me was the obvious injuries. Also not one to blame the referee but I thought the Sangare try was inconclusive and should have gone with the refs call. Also didn’t see a punch thrown either but they only showed one replay.

Holroyd best prop on the field. Hard to bag anyone but we probably saw the best and worst of a couple of players. Myler does so much well but just doesn’t have that cutting edge organization. Walters was good but still very raw, a couple of overexcited offloads and a poor read on the sironen try. Sangare an awesome break and then a chase back but then a bad error.

Overall more positive and hopefully last two weeks show we’ve put the poor starts to bed.

Tremendous effort. We are really cursed with injuries though. It’s every year

Im struggling to remember when weve been down to one sub for 55 well, 65 minutes though. No luck at all, proud of the performance though.

I've said it before, but along with the refereeing of the ruck, finding a way to reduce the number of injuries is probably the most cost effective thing the games administrators can do to improve the quality of the product. It's not just us, every team always seems to have at least 4 or 5 first team players missing each week. We don't have a massive talent pool in this country, so getting as many of the best players playing as often as possible is massively important.
Obviously, a lot of injuries are bad luck and will always happen, but reducing the amount of wrestling at the ruck is imperative IMO. Even the ball carriers are wrestling at the ruck to try and win a penalty, some play the balls are reminiscent of 2 boxers fighting in a clinch.

Was at the match yesterday and at the wrong end to see the Sangare "try" but what I could see looked fine. For all those with Skywhat was the video's ref reasoning for disallowing the try? I could only thing of a forward pass but didn't think the video ref was alloed to judge a forward pass and the onfield ref gave a try.

Thanks

Said a saints player touched it so knock on. What was annoying is he took one quick look at it and that was it, it was given a try on field.

It was right in front of me. I have to say that something initially seemed wrong about it when viewed with the naked eye. However, the referee gave the try. Seems harsh to overturn on footage that can't have been definitive - although I haven't summoned the courage to watch it back yet. To win the game last night we needed a bit of luck. Sadly, we didn't get it.

We had loads of luck, all bad!

Watch it back it was a really entertaining game despite the result.
