If McIntosh is, as rumoured, on his way next year, then I would be sticking Martin or Barron in for this game. I would go Martin, just think he has more physicality than Barron
I think over the next couple of weeks we should see vast improvements. Hoy, Truey & Cliff all playing together and getting some consistent game time together will pay dividends. I’m shocked how clutch Truey has been in D.
I think the only change I would make would be giving McIntosh a shot again. Looked good for reserves (he’s a better fullback than winger i think) and Scott isn’t a natural winger.
Then Tag and Ligi in for Gardner & Stavely.
How are salford looking in terms of fitness. I think the way to win will be defending around the ruck well. That’s where they’re excellent
As said previously Salford being very cute in tying players up on long term contracts. Its the only way they can survive nowdays by recouping transfer fees. Dupree now on the open market and will be tied up within the week but who with Rovers Saints Wigan Warrington Huddersfield Catalan even Hull could be swaps & cash deals for it to happen immediately rather than next season

I'd do the same tbh. However, I get the impression that Smith knows he probably isn't good enough, but also really appreciates his professionalism and attitude. He got dropped to the reserves but didn't sulk and instead went and put in a really good performance by all accounts. That kind of epitomises what Smith is trying to get in terms of attitude, and for that reason I don't think he's going to start picking Martin or Barron ahead of him.

It's called "not letting other teams with more cash take the pi$$". Been happening for far too long at Salford and hopefully won't be happening again.
Luckily most of our players have bought into the culture the club has created so unlike various claims on social media we won't be selling our whole squad "to make ends meet".

Wonder what Dupree is on about when he claims “2 sides to every story “?
Happy enough to sign a contract extension one minute then asking for a move the next

Iestyn Harris is Dupree's agent apparently. If that's true then it kinda figures as Harris was also the agent for Evalds who left for Cas within days of verbally agreeing a new contract with Salford in 2020. This is all about cash (for player & agent). Which is fine if it is as RL is a short career. Players would get some respect if they just came out and said it but I'm really not sure the "2 sides to every story" is meant to imply. Looks like the standard defence when you've been accused of forcing a move for the extra dollar.

Yeah that’s what I thought.
Sounds like he is trying to hint that Salford have gone back on some promises so wondered if this was the case or is he being deliberately ambiguous to take some pressure off himself.
