This all boils down to not spending the money in the summer after finishing ninth. We needed to invest heavily to ensue we survived, we didnt, Jesse came in and we invested poorly.
Correct. Then when we did finally invest it was done badly between Orta and Marsch plus very poor coaching, the players are unfit. Apparently both Gracia and Sam were alarmed when they took over at fitness levels. All the great possession and passing skills the players learnt under Bielsa were thrown away by Marsch, he did some real damage coaching wise.

Im all for putting a stamp on teams but infrastructure at TA was ditched because Jesse knew best - We used to be THE fittest team in the league and were still running and battling well into 80 mins in a game usually longer because of those now legendary murderball sessions & double training this was all ditched and this is the inevitable outcome, unfit, uninterested mercenaries strolling around.
Lets face it, they struck gold with Bielsa, his hard work and nouse took a bunch of misfits and moulded them into a great Leeds team others were able to ride his coattails and suddenly started thinking this was all their doing and were suddenly football geniuses. Glaring recruitment errors - An almost obsessive hoarding / signing of attackers while neglecting every other position and the retention and signing of dross packaged as ITK genius.

flogging players only lasts for so long. it was impossible for the same group to do it year in year out. add to that his refusal to bring players in or have a larger squad injuries were bound to hit at some point. add to that his ridiculous marking system which saw us easily exploited and ship goals left eight and centre bielsa had to go. he was lucky he lasted so long. the problem wasn't bielsa leaving it was who replaced him. and as you correctly said being obsessed with buying wingers

Tad, Orta and Radrizanni didn't offer Bielsa better players... they offered him Donny Van der Beek and Winks. Both terrible and expensive for what they offered. We simply could not deliver Bielsa better players than what he had and we are still paying the price on top of bringing in Marsch which was a disaster.

bielsa could have chosen his own players. he wanted Gallagher who went to palace. according to bielsa nobody else was good enough. he had £30m to spend in January. he said he didn't want anyone. he also said dan jamess had the ability to be leeds next permanent centre forward. bielsa was supurb first 2 years but don't pretend he didn't leave the club in a mess

I agree re Bielsa. 2 years in charge was enough and had he stayed we would be pushing to get out of the Championship. Marsch killed us and brought in some very average players apart from Adams. Orta messed up after sacking Gracia and not nailing a replacement having to settle for his 5th choice. Most supporters knew we needed a goalscorer and a LB and I personally questioned Messliers ability many months before Sam dropped him. The likes of Ayling, Bamford and Harrison all Bielsa favourites were not good enough. We then spent 35 million on a centre forward with potential when we needed someone to hit the ground running 15 million or so would have probably got us Diaz from Blackburn. This squad and those who run the club are washed up and changes are needed. I would say 9 or 10 new faces needed, a good manager and more importantly a Brighton type DOF.
