If he wants to go as far as others and clearly he thinks can, then this has to be a bit of a ‘feet back on the ground moment’

Having said that Morgan Gannon struggled to defend in that channel too and I don’t think that helped either of them.

There's want to be's and actual class Newman and French.

Correct, at the moment we are a deeply flawed side. Didn’t expect to win without Austin , several players certainly not up to top 4 play off standard.
Biggest disappointment regarding Newman ,was French bumping him away to score . He is still a vey immature player it’s a challenge to the coaching staff to put him on the right path.

Give it a rest French has 4 years on newman who's spent a log time out injured, showing more nuts to come back from long term injury (twice) than the keyboard trojans calling him a wnker have. French also made a poor effort on newman in the first half.

The French try in the first have was down to positioning from Harry and the defence inside and outside him with them going backwards.

I think I prefer starting poor and finishing strong, instead of starting well and then dropping out of the game. Individual errors hurt both ways of playing though.

Wigan missed a lot of chances first half and we still let them back in the game easily. Our kicking game was basic and the forwards competed fairly well but our three-quarter line was rubbish. Tindall tried but isn't up to scratch, Olpherts looks like a mistake waiting to happen, MacDonald didn't really get involved for me, and that leaves one more who missed two tackles that led to tries and bombed the chance for a winning try.

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

Good call for the analysis on the first try Seth. Gannon didn’t look comfortable defending in that position, and it seemed to have a knock on effect on those around.

Seen as Christopher isn't on here I'm going to lay it on the line players not up to standard Sezer,Fusitua, Lisone, Olpherts,Mcdonald, Austin I don't understand he's average then world beater when he wants, huge decisions to be made in recruitment let's hope Smith bring in some quality people.

Though Newman bombed the try the game was lost when we went away from being direct. How much time do we want to give the kickers? Hopefully tindal goes to hull fc and we have a receipt for olpherts. Big decisions needed on recruitment

smith brought in 3 of them....
dress it up how you want. leaders, lack of quality whatever.
a selfish player cost us a place in the next round.
it all boils down to that. wish I'd been a fly on the wall in the changing room

Lisone added good impact today. Way down the list for criticism.
