I know a lot has been said about the passive approach, I don’t think we’ve been overly passive tonight. We have been utterly stupid and riddled with errors. I’m unsure how much of that can be laid at the feet of Smith.

its smiths philosophy, as he said last week 'to go looking for opportunities rather than waiting for them'. its kamikaze as we're seeing every week and the pressure on our own line is just ridiculous. The stupid thing is we'd have enough in the pack and outside backs if we played a more composed style. Smith is pushing this style every week without a doubt.

We don't know how to apply pressure to the opposition. For an experienced half Austin does some dumb stuff, apart from his customary penalties.

We have no spine. O’Connor is undercooked at starting 9 but we have very little through the halves and Handley is a winger.

Errors and discipline again and most of it is in the backs, which is tiring out the pack making them less effective.
