Honestly this forum sometimes
Deary me, our cap has been totally mismanaged for years, that’s not an easy thing to untangle. Money wasn’t the issue with Hardaker it was the length of the contract we offered him.
.
I don't think that's the entirety of the current issue, but it's certainly been a contributing factor to an extent. Not a game goes by on SKY where I see players playing for other teams and I think "He should be at Leeds still" and I just wonder if its not salary cap issues then, to your point, why wouldn't we offer Zak a better contract to secure a very good player?

Surely good players should be paid to stick around for us. Especially Hardaker. Rohan must of had some input as to WHY he thinks we shouldn't keep them.
I was meaning Newman looks frustrated by the number of dumb errors being made and the low level of intensity from his teammates.
Recruitment and the cap has not been good for a long time and is another can if worms
I'm not having a pop or a go, I just can't get my head around the poor players we have now and the mass exodus that have gone to leave them. It can't all be down to money, I just wonder if they didn't buy into Rohans "game plan for the future" ?
The only players that've gone since Smith arrived that might have added something to the team are Broadbent, who's not exactly Mal Meninga, and Leeming, who spat the dummy at not being first choice, which was entirely down to his own performances. The likes of Sutcliffe and Dwyer were part of a squad that had underperformed for years - they are followers not leaders.

Newman is contributing to those errors, He is s fabulous player but he bombed a try in the first half tonight and will get banned for a ridiculous late hit.
He’s no right to be annoyed at other players until he sorts his own issues out.

Newman is a top player but his discipline has been poor since he broke into the team and shows no sign of improvement. He constantly complains to the referee when things aren't going our way. He has been binned for it once this season and was lucky to escape it last night. Chev Walker had to come on and have a word at one point. That's without the late tackle that could easily have been 10 minutes also.
Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.

Smith got a lot of credit last year, he’s getting a lot of stick this year. Some of it is his fault. Some of it isn’t. Realistically there’s no doubt he needs to change some things and if he doesn’t he’ll run out of good will with the people who matter, not you, me or anyone else on here.
Sounds like discipline is an issue tonight, as well as errors, those are two errors I generally don’t lay squarely at the feet of the coach.
There's no leadership recognisable on field or off it someone needs to take ownership of this issue and why don't fans matter or not han opinion.

Worryingly we have lost our last two games to sides that are well coached and extremely motivated. Neither of these sides will feature in the top four play offs. So that unfortunately that is our our standard at the moment. I thought we had the the basis of a good side in which to build on. Unfortunately at the moment that seems a distant memory. I don’t want smith to go mainly because a new coach would embark on a new round of bringing in new players. The risk of that failure being we would be back to square one. On the other hand I have absolutely no confidence In smith.
