He was a player who was ultra loyal to the FC and was always there when needed, he played more A team than first team and yet he was a real grafter but had to make way for players like Flash Flanagan Ronnie Wiseman, and Keith Bridges who were brought in as 'big name' signings. However, he waited and stayed loyal and when called upon he never once let the club down, a rugged old fashioned 'dog' of a mudlark who always gave 100%. he played in that historic last game of the undefeated 78/79 season, but his greatest hour was in the 1982 Cup Final replay when an injury to Ronnie Wileman gave Tony (then aged 37) his big chance and once again he was a real hero in an unforgettable night of heroes . An unassuming gentleman of a guy off the field, he was always there when the heat was on defending his team mates, Tony was a great clubman and a good player; great memories. RIP Tony Duke.
Well done Pete
