Shame as Savelio has been one of our better forwards imo .

Perhaps we should just let TS get on with his job. He's not answerable to us but to AP.

Don't think anyone is questioning Smith's methods, just surprised that Andre is looking like he'll be out the door.

I thought he was one of the ones we'd retain. All people are doing is discussing that.

Don't think he will be here next season. Doesn't see eye to eye with TS

Internal disciplinary issues are not any of our business, in my opinion.

That’s not entirely true though is it?

Reasons given for dropping players and the transparency of the club is also being questioned.

Plus we have fans asking why certain players are being released, albeit they are only rumours at the moment, and others asking why player A is being picked ahead of player B whom they believe is a far better player.

IMHO we are probably guilty of judging Savelio’s performances in comparison to the wasteland our back row has become?

He is better than Lane - whose form simply dropped off a cliff seemingly when he signed the contract, but is that much of an achievement really?

His other competition this season is Griffin, a converted centre; plus (depending where they are played of course) Fash and Cator, who are whole-hearted 100% effort, but (unfortunately for us) ultimately undersized.

Savelio has spent significant time each season with us in the stand due to injury, and I haven’t seen it mentioned recently that when he left the NRL it was because the medical team at Brisbane Broncos assessed his knee as not up to playing professional RL after a severe ACL injury.

Being the best of a decidedly average bunch for me is not grounds to be “must play”, particularly if there is a disciplinary issue: we are all guessing this to be the case, but who knows.

He will also be on a relatively high contract, so renewing it may well not make sense given the changes we all hope to see into next season?

Personally, I choose to believe that Tony Smith is doing everything he can to turn around our dysfunctional playing squad, and that excluding one of your better players is not something he would do without very good reason(s).

I get what you're saying but isn't that what a fans forum is all about and a place where fans can come on and discuss/debate things like this?

Think most are supportive of TS as have long asked for an experienced head coach to come in and sort things out. When there is a disconnect between the Club and fans like there is (and has been for a while) and when things aren't going particularly well based on the previous seasons its only natural fans do question things.

I'd have said coming in to this season I'd be disappointed losing Savelio but in reality and taking a step back is he really doing enough or good enough to get us back to where we need to be in challenging? Griffin for me has been probably our best SR so far this season which maybe tells its own story in terms the level of quality in our SR.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
