Am I right in saying that IF IMG decide a 14 team league then Wakey are still the only SL side who’s place is under threat? Realistically 3-5 teams in the Champ could rank higher than them?

Although I would have thought todays meeting was to late for todays paper/online news. More than likely be a available tomorrow so that people actually buy the news.

Thanks, I don't have twitter so it didn,t cross my mind to look there. I can't get on with Twitter, must be getting old!

Isn't it going to be a 12 team league to start with? Then if there's enough good teams from the championship, the league can expand?

I wouldn't be resting easy if I was Castleford.

Poor ground
Plenty of local clubs
Didn't get an academy licence

How far back are we going to determine success on the field?

Poor facilities - granted but an atmosphere that betters most others. Sky quite like putting us on for that very reason. Empty seats at Huddersfield is a bit of a turn off.

Plenty of local clubs - ditto Hull, ditto Leigh.

Academy Licence - we have one.

Don't think atmosphere will be looked at above facilities, although I agree yours is one of the best.
They will also lose the point for it but won't lose points for their facilities like you will.
Apologies, I didn't think you got one when they gave them out the other year.

We (Tigers) are in the process of waiting for a local council planning meeting to determine an upgrade of The Jungle in the region of £12 million. This decision will happen after the local elections. We also have a government grant of £2 million sat in the bank.
I was surprised though that in the grading formula, facilities didn't rate as high as expected. I was also surprised that there wasn't a part of the formula that mentioned stadium ownership.

Presumably one of the reasons given in favour of these proposals is that it will (should) encourage clubs to strive to improve their ground facilities, attendances, finances, performance on the field and thus earn more points. If, as stated, the top tier will be filled with all the category A clubs with 15 points or higher, is it possible , over time, for more than 12 clubs to reach that magic number 15? If not, what’s the point of clubs trying their hardest to improve? The wording “with the remaining spots going to the best performing category B teams” on the BBC website assumes that less than 12 clubs will reach 15 points for the 2025 season. Perhaps with five points available for performances over three years, it’s not possible for more than 12 clubs to qualify.

Even if they finish bottom I can't see them going down with Featherstone likely to win the Championship.

I think it's highly likely their promotion will be blocked as they've lost control of the crowd. There'll be nowhere in the IMG proposals for racist chanting, fighting and throwing things at coaches.
