It’s far too early in season.

Neither Eddie nor Malcolm ever showed any interest in local sport as far as I'm aware. Time will tell if one of the next generation has decided to invest although I'm not sure if an astute businessman would do so just to mickey off a rival.

I quite agree with you regarding any business man willing to offload a load of cash just to pee off a rival. I can assure you from first hand knowledge that one of the brothers has invested cash into a local sports club. So who knows finger's crossed

Born Black and White
Die Black and White

Hull will give us a tough game but the key is to silence their fans in the Threepenny Stand. We have to do this because if we do'nt they will get behind their side and lift them in a way you've never seen, heard or witnessed before.

Great business acumen shown by Wakey, signing a player on a two week loan when there is no game in week 2 of the loan

Forgot about the international break.... I'd assume Rovers will extend it unless Lewis or Abdul pick up an injury

Didn't Branson do similar with what is now Virgin Atlantic? I'm sure he did it to p1s5 Britiosh Airways off as he had some beef with them.

Either way any investment that comes in to RL is much needed as its currently not a sport that makes much money due to the poor marketing ploys and strategies by the sports Governors and Owners.
Hopefully with IMG these things will improve greatly over the coming years.

Back on topic, I do think that once Trueman is back on the field along with Hoy & Clifford and we can keep them on the field together we will improve my only concern is with the rest that have a track record of throwing the towel in early.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

The optimist in me thinks things are bound to get better. Trueman coming in to complete our spine getting games under their belts and improving, Carlos/Savelio getting back to their bests after long layoffs, forwards finding a bit of forrm, its all bound to happen eventually right?

The pessimist side however thinks things will continue to get worse. Granted this is by far the worst position Wakey have found themselves in, however they have a habit of always just doing enough to survive. They know how and when to dig in during a relegation battle, whilst we don't. If we come to the final few games of the season with only a couple wins between us and them I would be bricking it

I’m in a similar boat here, you look at some of our squad and think surely we have to have a purple patch at somepoint. The purple patch only has to last 2-3 games to stay up lol.

I’m hoping this international break will be the catalyst for turning a corner. For me, we need to be looking at 3-4 days of real hard graft followed by a friendly against a mid table champ side. We have no one selected so can go out with a full strength side and then let kids have last 20-30 mins. Ironically it’s usually after the international break we fall apart so maybe we decided to be crap before it and class after

If I’m right, I heard Truey would’ve been available for that weekend had it not been the international break. If we can find a game on a decent pitch he could have a run and get 40 minutes under his belt before having the pressure of winning us a grand final with and unbeaten run all the way to world Club champions
