"Kane Evans and Mitieli Vulikijapani drop out and will serve their one-match suspensions, while Jake Clifford (ankle) and Jamie Shaul (calf) are unavailable having picked up knocks during the game.
The quartet are replaced by Andre Savelio, Joe Lovodua, Cam Scott, and Harvey Barron."
If we go with McNamara and Lovodua in the halves, we will be crucified. I am told that Litten and Gardiner will play
And then they wonder why results and performance don't change when the same old failures get the chance to do it again every week. Even with the injuries and suspensions I'd hoped we'd have had a couple of others dropped from the 21 man squad but guess that would mean the club had started holding them to account. Just seems that the club still rewards continual failure and poor performance.
Agreed that if we go with Lovodua in the halves we already know there's an evitability about things. Hoping that Scott will go to centre and Sutcliffe in the halves as a temporary cover until Clifford or Trueman are fit to play.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
I do understand to some degree why we are not seeing huge changes, particularly with the younger players. as mentioned above, their confidence for their development is key. Throwing young lads in for their debut when we have a completely disjointed spine and are at an all time low for morale would probably do more harm than good at this point, especially when we are at great risk of another embarrassment. However I do understand the frustration of players constantly underperforming keep being rewarded with seemingly secure spots.

Give Lovodua a go at hooker. It's the position we signed him to play so give him a start there.Houghton is finished and sadly no longer good enough for Super league.
Litten Barron Carlos Scott Swift Sutcliffe Mcnamara Sao Lovodua Fash Savelio Griffin Cator
Smith confirmed team were called in over the weekend for extra training, I take what any team says about training with a pinch of salt...but taking away their days off is the strictest move possible without resorting to fines so lets see how they respond.

But we dont do common sense I see the extra training at Easter has been a huge success with all the slackers still in the team. Its a miracle what a big breakfast and watching videos can do. See no Balmforth in the squad again despite us struggling at half back and nine. Wonder if both he and Staveley are unsettled in Hull and are leaving

If we go with Lovodua and Macnamara in the halves someone is actually pulling our collective legs. Rather stick some forwards there as it’ll be one up rugby anyways.
Where’s Rich Whiting when you need him?

Do we actually know the terms of the loans to Newcastle? It might be that we can't recall them at short notice. The only time any of them have been in the squad has been during CC when they can't play for Newcastle.
Absolutely confident TS putting out what he sees as his best option every week. Do agree there are elements of assessing which players are capable of improving, protecting/developing the youngsters in a sensible manner. It was always the case that youngsters contracts were automatically upgraded on number of appearances so there MAY be salary cap implications with the likes of Litten, Barron & Gardner. Sure they are the future (if they stick around ) but club has to juggle constantly. Really aren’t getting the Jack Brown fan club on here, he is okay but no better than any of the current crop - only plays limited minutes, is lightweight with average defence - he does have good hands but would need runners to benefit.
