We could borrow the Dobbins burger van and bouncy castle, might have to pay a fee though. Doubt Grudge would let us have it for free.

Ridiculous to suggest Hull fans walk out before any other clubs fans in similar situations. Maybe we just need some burger vans in north stand.

Have to wonder what they’ll rename Poorhouse Lane when the newbuilds are going up. 10-5 street?

Billy Brightside wrote:The atmosphere at the MKM is dire bordering on embarrassing. A short outbreak of “come on you ull” then back to silence, it will hardly inspire the players.
It is a soulless stadium and the match day experience is very very poor.
As I alluded to in a previous post what sort of entertainment is kicking a ball into the back of a transit van?
It probably doesn’t help been a full seater stadium it’s on the terraces where the atmosphere is created take Hull Kingston Rovers East Stand for example it creates a fantastic atmosphere that is often mentioned on Sky and by rival players and coaches.
The Hull fans have nowhere to socialise pre and post match just a soulless concrete concourse that Hull FC make zero revenue from so where is the incentive for fans .

Hull Kingston Rovers have Craven Streat where heaps of fans meet and socialise pre and post match plenty of different food and drink outlets, stalls selling Hull Kingston Rovers merchandise, live bands and again Sky comment on this too. And the Club make a lot of money from Craven Streat

The other thing that needs addressing is your fans simply getting up and walking out when things aren’t going so well on the pitch , you need to back your team …old faithful….Hull FC fans have a reputation for walking out of the stadium leaving the players to walk around the pitch post match applauding plastic seats .

So Rovers make a lot of money from Craven Streat? If they sell 1,000 burgers/or drink per match @ £2 profit = £2k per match = £30k per season.

Or they could build a stand to house 3,000 fans. That would bring in £75k extra revenue just for the Derby, as their is no decent capacity to house away fans. Fans would still buy food and drink. Modern grounds have concourses selling food and drink, all under cover too.

Sky only mention it as it’s the only thing to mention about CP. If Craven Street was such a good idea, then they’d be knocking down The Kop, Stretford End, Holte End and Spurs would have only built a three sided ground.

Enlighten me to what your match day experience is at the football stadium?
Does you chairman profit from any of the beverages and food purchased?
Is it a good atmosphere? ,
Do the Hull FC fans stay behind after the game and socialise?
Do you own the stadium you play in?
Do you have a wealthy B.O.D ?
I will answer those questions for you NO !!!

Your club is in financial turmoil, It won’t turn the heads of any quality signings and you can’t afford any anyway.
The “ faithful” fans have turned on the club.
Basically your in a mess.

How much does all this events-related bring in per year Billy? Just roughly. £250,000 do you reckon?

RC15 wrote:Getting back to the title of the thread…

Have been a long time lurker on this board, and a contributor years ago to its predecessor(s); however, gave up as it all seemed pointless as the more sensible posters on here generally cover my thoughts.

Like many born into a fishing family on Hessle Road, supporting Hull was a given: it’s a cross we have to bear.

Have had a season pass from when I could first afford one in the late 70’s, and this year was the first time I have seriously considered not renewing it.

The reasons are many, a major one was being forcibly removed from West stand W12 where many of us sat together for years to make way for expanded “family seating” and into the North Stand (the away stand), or face a huge price increase. The fact our old seats - apart from the derby, or when tickets are given away - sit empty just across from us all serves only to increase the bitterness. This was a great thank you for all of us affected allowing the club to keep our money during the Covid season.

So, “Finances and supporting the club”. The above has clearly affected the attitude of all, and has been reflected in the merchandise sales; for a relatively small group, season on season this has not been insignificant.

I see early in this thread we have had the usual Lord Kitchener-esque “your club needs you”, with the implied notion that if we don’t just keep coughing up on passes, merchandise, etc we will be directly responsible should the club fail.

In my humble opinion, this is disingenuous to say the least. Does the ownership therefore take no responsibility for the state the club is in, and it is simply because the fan base don’t empty their pockets often enough? Hull FC has been criminally mismanaged for a long time now, and each latest disaster is glossed over with further jam tomorrow promises that play on the wish fulfilment fantasies of the paying fan.

For me, this ran out some time ago. I still have a pass only because my fellow ex-W12ers renewed, having given up on any notion of entertainment or pleasure at the MKM/KCom in 2018.

A word that apparently does not apply at Hull FC looms large - Accountability.

It is quite rightly being applied to a playing group (note - not a team) who are the most pathetic and spineless in the competition, but it MUST begin with the ownership.

I know there is no queue of investors or potential alternative owners, but Adam Pearson has made some catastrophic decisions during his tenure, and seemingly has not learned from them at all. Most glaringly, the fact that Tony Smith is the first genuine, time-served rugby league man to be involved outside of coaching during APs tenure (should his de facto director of rugby position be correct) is damning.

I don’t have an answer, none of us (realists) do, but “here’s more of the same, open your wallet” simply will not wash anymore.

I will always be a Hull FC fan, I have no choice. But my days of Stockholm Syndrome are over; and asking around, I’m not alone.

A truly worrying, however truthful post. Adam Pearson has for too long survived on his “Jam Tomorrow” sales pitch season upon season and the gullible fans have foolishly accepted it.
The Hull FC chairman obviously takes the gullible fans for granted and deflects his accountability onto those fans season upon season.Worrying times.

Somebody needs to let Brisbane Broncos know that they’re going to be usurped as the worlds biggest RL Club.
How can Suncorp compete when they don’t have a three sided ground containing kebab vans, beer gazebo and crazy graffiti.

Plus they can’t get their bottled waters from the nearby Poundstretcher.

Sadly lost count of the number of times ive seen new people sit in my block and Hull serve up an absolute disaster. People go home thinking £30 for this??

But even huge games like wire 2016 league leaders much got 17k so around 15k FC fans

Derby hasn't sold out for years so even the derby doesn't get more than 15k FC fans

Our home max home support is around 15k
