Just hope Pearson and Smith dont make some of the decisions out of desperation rather then enhancing the squad

Agreed it would be very easy to make a bad situation worse.

I dont think its the size of the pack that is
the problem, its the speed of it.

We've got the laziest and softest pack in the league

Yup, which is why i would fancy a more mobile and faster forward then another pudding.

Think that’s probably why Smith came in as the voice of experience in terms of turning clubs round.
I guess a lot depends on what the discussions have been in terms of recruitment/retention already and the long term plan.

Even though Smith said at the start about clean, slates and even now about players having chsnces to earn deals I’d hazard a guess what he is saying outwardly isn’t necessarily what he is thinking inwardly. He’s not likely to come out and say they are all truly awful and will be gone end of season even if that is the case.

A calm and measured approach is needed but that may need to be tweaked such is the urgency to arrest the slide. Right now Wakey whilst not having a great squad themselves at least show they have some fight in them where as we look bereft of everything.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

So we let our stand out forward over the last 2 years go.
We must be nuts.

On his day yes, but that doesn't happen enough, a prop of his quality some be doing more work, defence is poor too, gets beat too easily by quick players.

What’s happened to Satae, I was dominate in 2021 and seemed to be good last year too.

I’d like Wigan to be interested in him instead of Mago who is a pudding.

Chris Satae has been affected/infected by the malaise permeating the club; in a good side it is virtually certain that he would return to his previous form, and as such he would be an excellent signing for a team that can coach, enthuse, and use him properly.

At the moment, Hull FC seemingly can do none of those things; although that is in no way a criticism of Tony Smith, who is having to deal with the mother of all poisoned chalices.

For Satae to be most effective he needs to be running onto the ball, whereas this season (like all of our forwards) he gets the pass flat footed and standing still.

Sure it’s some kind of bizarre “mental muscle memory” thing, but we are back at the pit of the Lee Radford curve, where we have no dummy runners, nobody running angles, and nobody taking the ball up with any kind of intent or aggression. Watching Halifax v Bradford on Viaplay last night, the effort and application from both sets of forwards on a difficult, rainy night highlighted just how disgracefully poor the “efforts” of Hull’s forwards are.

I’m not suggesting those Championship players are better, just that they show desire, hunger, and a willingness to work that shames the Hull FC team at present - not that it appears they have any shame. Or pride. Or professionalism.
