Tbh if it's a swap for Smith, I'd rather we don't bother. Play one of our youngsters instead. Smith is no better than what we have.

Exactly right, he is contracted to us. Players are swapped or sold regardless of their concerns. At the same time, if a player doesn’t want to be at his club, he can refuse to play till a move happens, Gary Schofield comes to mind. Lovodua isn’t the right fit, apparently doesn’t want to play hooker and can’t really command a place in the team anywhere else. If the rumour is true and he’s down to play hooker at Cas, then that could well be his reluctance. Just remember that all is rumour until it happens.

He does. He just sits here on his contract until it expires. Smith can't do anything unless Lovodua agrees to it.

He wouldn’t get another playing contract in this country if he did take that attitude.

Think that’s one of the problems within the club the attitude is all wrong with too many of them. Granted he has a contract with the club but if he is refusing to move think that shows his attitude is wrong and not a player you need in a squad. Any player that would rather sit out a contract rather than move to play regular rugby just shows where the commitment is.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Bit daft if Cas are offering him a longer deal

“Want to stay and fight for my place” is the phrase usually trotted out in this situation.

'Thus I am tormented by my curiosity and humbled by my ignorance.' from History of an Old Bramin, The New York Mirror (A Weekly Journal Devoted to Literature and the Fine Arts), February 16th 1833.

Can he not be loaned out?
I would think that he could not refuse being loaned out

Dan Smith was a decent prospect in his youth. He's developed into a solid pro, but hasn't really fulfilled his potential.

Can't just play under sized youngsters and it's not a great enviroment to bring therm in, I'm all for seeing younger players play but just because reserves/academy are winnig it's still a massive step up, although I'd like to see one of Gardiner or Laidlaw play.
