There is one undisputed fact in life, the performance of every organisation is a direct reflection of the skill and quality of the man at the very top. The rugby side of this club has been an inept shambles for the last three seasons at least. Well before Mash arrived. If Mash is sacked by Monday I really feel no one could pull this mess around by the end of this season
Probably through necessity but, we've lost the top 5/6 players from last seasons squad and each one is a lesser player. The current squad has the ability to scrape 11th spot but, no better. However, with Leigh proving to be ok in SL this time, we are now relying on one of the other sides being worse then us and unfortunately, after last night, we know that there isn't a worse side than us. I dont think we can wait until there are 6/8 games left to roll the dice, something has to be done NOW.
I think the question asked should be, do the powers that be actually want us to stay up? I'm sure they've worked out all the financial implications if we do go down, how will sacking Applegarth be financially beneficial to the club? Because seemingly every decision that's been made in recent history, is down to finances, some of them necessary, but not all of them. Just on the actual playing side of things, I've mentioned on here a few times, these names. Green, Arundel, Josh Wood, Tangata etc, they were only here 2 years ago, and we won games with those players. Are this 'crop' worse than them ability wise??
I don’t think changing the coach is always a good thing but it’s blatantly obvious after 8 games something isn’t right. I don’t know who would be prepared to take this lot over though because too many of them are not SL Quality. I honestly think we’ve had it this season, and sadly after 63years of supporting trinity I don’t really care. I’m sick of watching the crap they serve up. We’re miles too slow and not good enough. End of!

The big difference is Matty served his apprenticeship, only moving onto a new role when the time was right and someone else had vacated the position, he learned his trade very well and isn’t just a coach by numbers coach.
Not posted on here for a while now due to comments I made as Applegarth was made coach and got lambasted for it.I did say I would eat humble pie if I was wrong, however it doesn’t look like I will be…… maybe there is time but doubt it. I get the club has a budget to stick to etc however, the guy never real did much as a player did he, I think I did more to be honest. He certainly wouldn’t be in my top players at trinity over the years. So because he did ok with the younger sides, doesn’t mean that he will be any good at professional level. That’s what I said back then and I’m sticking to it now. Also I will say again, chester should never have gone……….. And I get told I don’t know anything. There is no way in any rugby league game that you are either nilled or hardly scoring regularly, I thought it was impossible but I will hold my hands up and say I was wrong. Enjoy the rest of the season if you can. My ticket has gone elsewhere as I can’t be bothered with the 4 hour journey to go watch it I’m sorry. Just one last point, there is no excitement watching RL anymore it’s hanging on by it’s coat tails. There is no atmosphere and I will not waste my money attending any game anymore. It’s not worth the hassle of getting to games. The best bit to an RL game these days is the build up about 1 hour before it starts……….. I can’t believe I said that but it’s true(in my opinion)

Clearly things are not working so you can claim that you knew it before he started, but to say the reason is that he wasn't a great player is massively flawed.
Plenty of top players didn't make a good coach and plenty of average ones did.

Here we go again. You are missing my point completely. Never mind.
