Imagine how bad it would have been if they were still being coached improperly by Willie Poching...

It's time to change, before it's too late.
We've gone with a budget squad and an inexperienced SL coach and sadly, very sadly, we have been found wanting (massively).
.8 games in, almost a third of the season and with the exception of the Salford game, we have not looked close to troubling our opposition and on too many occasions, we haven't troubled the scoreboard.
Excuses can be made for different things but, the bottom line in that we are 0 from 8.
There was plenty of effort from most of the 17 on show tonight but, sorry, it's time for a change.

I feel sorry for Applegarth but, this has all the hallmarks of the Casper Smith season and our coach, unfortunately, is out of his depth.

Poor form from some of our "fans" tonight too. Not our greatest night.

A lot of people saying sack Apelgarth but for me he’s a coach we should look to keep at trinity. Possibly for the future but he’s still a valuable asset even if it is only meant to be in the youth/assistant set up for the coming years.

I’d give him till the Leigh game and expect a result but I wouldn’t sack him from the club if we don’t win.

I would look to bring him back into an assistant role alongside Ford if there’s a change to happen and look for a coach to come in above them both.

That said, if there’s not the money there then it’s irrelevant.

If the board stick with him through thick and think no matter what then I really hope he gets some success this year as it must be a real rough journey so far for him.

Losing Jowitt, Murphy, Bowden and Tanginoa nearly all year is just silly rotten luck to start with.

I really hope he and the squad can turn it around vs Leigh at home.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.

If we didn’t win tonight under Applegarth, we won’t win against Leigh under Applegarth. The bloke needs to step aside.

I was one of those who thought Mark and James was a shrewd investment in the future… and they may still be… sadly if they remain in charge this year… with no squad improvement, then we will be relegated.

Ps I quite like Will Dagger, decent squad player… but he’s not half the player that Corey Hall is!

Your talking rubbish, If he had not taken over the club, the only status we would have out side the ground would have been welcome to Morrisons The only mistake Mr Carter made ,was not to back W Poaching and backing the players .Did not take W Poaching to long to find out that Gaskell was not a 6 and sent the so called winger to Featherstone These coaches though it was wrong and we have paid the price big time

Who refused to extend poaching s contract
Who hired Mash and Fordy
Who sat by and watched players like Gaskill,Lineham come to the club
Who signed Tafua,Proctor and Atoni

There is one undisputed fact in life, the performance of every organisation is a direct reflection of the skill and quality of the man at the very top.
The rugby side of this club has been an inept shambles for the last three seasons at least. Well before Mash arrived. If Mash is sacked by Monday I really feel no one could pull this mess around by the end of this season

The thing for carter is that he saved us, no question. Unfortunately though the board never got the understanding that they needed a respected rugby brain to run the rugby side off field and thought they could. Lack of money in last 3 yrs been a killer for us. But whose fault is that? It’s not the fans, only the board could look to get inward investment from other areas/people. Fans come to see good rugby. So yes mr Carter is now the villain as seen by fans.
Poaching should have been backed end of or did his face really not fit?
Mash has to go, like it or not the buck stops with him as he was happy to take the role.
Just who could/would come in for us. We’re not exactly a draw for a coach are we.
We love our club and just hope this can be rectified. So much gone right for the board ie the stand as I don’t think anyone else would have got a penny from the original deal we had but as a rugby club it’s what happens on the field that ultimately counts.

I think we'd struggle against Leigh Miners Rangers at the moment.

King Street Cat wrote:It was always going to be a gamble. You can't just go straight in as first team head coach in Super League. People said at the time, "look at Matt Peet at Wigan, he's done alright". Well, we're not Wigan and the difference in coaching experience between Applegarth and Peet is like chalk and cheese.

The big difference is Peets has Wayne watching his back ,whereas Mash has Ford who himself is a rookie at this level .
