How many clubs play in sydney ?
Both sydney clubs, parramatta, canterbury
Sleeping giants our crowds didn't improve much in 2016 or 17
Wigan and saints regularly sell out 25k
Fc/rovers hasn't got close to selling out kc for over 10 years
Hull is bigger than St helens and Wigan put together
For live attendances yes AFLs beats the NRL but TV audiences (where the money is) the NRL are No.1, both sports are huge in Aus with the NRL not being that far behind the AFL for live sport and just no comparison to SL here
You just can't compare the NRL to SL its like comparing the Premier League to League One.
Wigan and St's have a history on consistent success in the game and particularly the SL era so no surprise their derbies are better attended than the Hull derby when both Hull clubs have been starved of consistent success.
Our Wembley wins still papered over the cracks of the inconsistent league form that has and still plagues us. We tailed off in 2016 after winning at Wembley and again in 2017 still weren't consistent enough in the league. Until the club shows a level of consistency in the league the attendances won't change much due to all the false dawns.
Not sure you know much about Wigan as it has a similar size population to Hull in actual fact it probably is slightly larger than Hull even when including the suburbs then add in St Helens then the number is far greater than Hull on its own. Then when you look at the catchment area they have a much bigger area to draw fans from being in the middle of two huge cities in Liverpool & Manchester.
