Leigh played their best specialist hooker, Ipape, from the get go yesterday and were 16 points to the good after 13 minutes.
Just saying.

Of course it's all academic now but, there you go.

Aye okay.

And most of your tries included at least one forward pass but so what :SUBMISSION:

fans of clubs other than Saints often look to Saints for a single secret of success. Most often, developing young players. Surprisingly rarely, Eamonn McManus’ munificence. ‘Fans being really needy even in victory’ feels like it could be the new Leigh take on it.

Well you're wrong. it's up to Carlos to keep hold of that ball in that situation. BTW - We are not being needy at all, but we can snigger under our breath knowing that we took the spoils on both clubs on Humberside. :D

Well done, Leigh played well. Early days but they look like they have a good chance of bucking the trend of promoted teams going straight back down. About time too.
However if you're going to be this smug after every win it's going to get old very quickly.

Thats a pretty 50/50 call between a strip and a loose carry, I've seen them given both ways. It's all academic either way.

Dwyers bit of brilliance set up littens try

Mcintosh, Carlos, taylor, Houghton, Sao, savelio, Lane, fash, cator, Lovodua, Scott, shaul imo aren't good enough to kick us on

Sao is a penalty machine and isn't the samoa player that turned up

Its picking the ball up from dummy half and either passing the ball or scooting/making a break.
Shauls best part of his game which is running is ideal for this position
If people want to criticise Shauls passing or his defence then surely from the evidence we have seen from our now number one nine Dwyer it cant be any worse than him.
Shaul is now surplus to requirements but i still maintain he could do a better job at nine than the current bunch we have.
According to one of the Aussie posters on here he coached Shaul in his younger days as a hooker and dont forget he actually started at nine for one match last year or the year before and did very well, but finished the game back at full back due to injury re shuffle prompting one or two on here to say it was a good call.
But if Shaul's playing at 9, can he do a heavy defensive stint in the middle against opposition big fellas?

I thought Shaul could have been playing at 6 with his running game and support play, but Tony Smith prefers Lovodua there it seems, because he brings what to that position?

Leigh was good played to their strengths, hooker was very good, looked very pacy out wide, easily finish mid table(above us :) )

We are having a year this year, like Warrington did last year with Powell. He highlighted the issues at the club with players and culture and made moves through the year to turn things around - but their season was poor on the pitch.

However, Powell now has his side, and look at what they are producing. We know the issues around the playing squad, but a good 10 of these won't be hear next year, and we can start afresh. This year is a transition year, it was foolish to think anything else - it's just a shame that Year 1 of Hoy and Clifford's stay with us, is going to be a stopgap year - and we will only really see 1 good year with them....hopefully

We need to be careful though, if players down tools we could go down, Wakey look poor too, but we play them away soon, if they beat us ( and we lose the next few, which I expect will hapoen) it will start to get a bit nervous.
