Be very interested to hear Leemings take when he eventually speaks out. O'connor was very good and we saw more of him looking to carry the ball when the opportunity came. Decent run out for Johnson too.

Listening to Smiths presser it does look like Johnson will now get a decent go of it, he spoke highly of him

On one thing OConner was outstanding and ran whenever he needed to, I honestly don’t think we’ll miss leeming
We were never going to miss Leeming imho… I am taken aback with just how good O’Connor can be though. Was watching him very closely and impressed with every facet of his game. Even his running game was very good. He timed the passes to Lisone and Sangare really well to get us on front foot. Then his long passing to half back was impressive. We all know is an aggressive defender as well. I honestly think spine isn’t as bad as we perhaps thought…..

So didn’t watch it live, out for a family meal. Few things stand out to me. Generally our skill levels are not good enough to play the way that RS is asking us to, but sometimes it sticks and we get a second half like we did today.
We’re much better when we are aggressive in defence, we’re not able to back up the passive defence with a strong goal line. RS needs to recognise the players he’s coaching just as much as the style he’s asking them to play.
Special mentions to Austin, his best game in a Leeds shirt. Also Tetevano who finally out in a marquee tackle (on McMeeken). O’Connor was very good (and CJ busy when he came on). Last but by no means least, cracking finish from Derrell Olpherts, outstanding handoff on Pearce to push over the line.
Masses and masses to fix still, but a step forward.
It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Agree with a lot of that Batley. Thought Tetevano was very good today. His defence and running out wide was superb. Olpherts did very well. Credit to them both, they’ve had a fair bit of stick but played well today. Now need the consistency
