I don’t quite get the forward bashing on here this season, we seem to be making solid yards and to me it’s our backs that aren’t clicking, the amount of times last night and in particular the Catalans game where we had sets of 6 on their try line and offered no threat, it reminded me of the Lam days a little. What was noticeable last night was Salfords forwards offloading it a lot more but I put that down to instructions rather than the players.
It’s getting a little worrying how poor our attack is looking but we’ve shown character to win these last 2 games and the last 15 last night we really upped the ante and attack and defence. Credit to Peet too for making some gutsy decisions in switching everything around and taking off a high earning Ozzie half back but it’s not a great sign that he needed to do that. Massive improvement needed going forward and it’s a little worrying, especially as we are picking from pretty much a full strength squad, on these performances I think the Leigh game will be tough but hopefully we can take the last 15 minutes into that game and play with that extra intensity and get some cohesion in the backs.
Have a look at Singleton and Cooper’s stats last night!
