Agree with the other 4,
Shaul
Houghton
Evans
Lovodua
Would give us 2 quota places and a good chunk of cash to bring in 3 good forwards. One UK and 2 overseas players.
Griffin and Taylor wil probably get a rolling one year deal at a reduced rate for me agree on the other four, can see Danny moving onto coaching side probably defence definitely not attack
, Satae a must for me I know he has his faults but he's a big unit in our pack. Savelio and Sao tough calls when for me, Dre is very good not coincidence when he got injured we dropped off last season again. Ligi a penalty machine but great engine.
Agree with Dave, for me Houghton, Shaul, Lovodua & Evans would be ones that we should not offer any deals too. Think so far Griffin has been actually been pretty good in the 2nd row so would be worth keeping subject to price and what other suitable options are available. Taylor just not sure whether he is worth a years deal to be fair as think he like Evans just needs replacing.
I'd look closely at Lane and Savelio with a view to moving Lane on if he doesn't pick up any form, with Savelio if he has a relatively injury free season then he'd be worth extending.
Satae is a must to re sign as not many out there that would give us what he does. Sao I'd maybe offer a 1 year deal as do think we'd get more from Ligi in terms of performance and less penalties conceded if we had better options in the pack other than Taylor & Evans. I'd also look at tying Jack Brown down for another year or two.
Hooker the jurys out and will be dependant on how well Balmforth progresses this season but think we need a Parcell type 9.
Certainly a lot of thinking to be done by Smith & Pearson and decisions they have to get right.
