No, he was a LF.

He did play second row at times, certainly in his earlier academy days. He isn’t big enough to play in the middle IMO and it feels like there’s a second row spot opening up. Leigh is a good place to be making a case for a chance in that spot anyway (presuming he is playing second row, I’ve not actually seen much of him during his time there so far).

He did but he was primarily used as a LF. I worry, Faz is still our best by a long way but he is in the twilight of his career. Isa is past his best and whilst he is the ultimate competitor he hasn’t the necessary tools to be effective. KPP should be first choice, now that Bateman has left, but he has no dog in him from what I have seen. If somebody could fuse Isa and KPP we would have a world beater. JS has some good aspects to his game but I don’t think he is the answer based on previous performances, I now think that the coaching staff feel the same. It looks as though IFL will need to splash the cash.

We are desperate for 1 secondrower mid season and another in the offseason.

KPP is probably the most naturally gifted we have but his performances and work ethic have been very poor so far in 2023. I think it would be worth giving Shorocks a go over him off the bench as he couldn’t be any worse and he provides that utility value too.

I wouldn’t be against Smithies moving into the secondrow for spells with JS coming in at 13.

We are going to have to be very patient I would think and wait for someone to fall out of favour in the NRL for us to recruit all while also having to put things in place for a quota player to depart in advance, which will probably be Miski to London, should anyone become available.

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

The loss of Nicholson gets more painful by the week. It’s pretty frustrating to think we had too many second rowers last year by at least a couple and now we are looking short in the position. The really worrying thing is that not too many names are jumping out on the off contract list for Superleague. On the plus side at least a couple of overseas spots should open up.

In the short term this season, I wouldn’t be against moving Smithies there and getting the extra prop in (probably Ellis) or maybe Shorrocks gets a go.

Meanwhile we’re stuck with KPP who’s a one trick pony and a few other underperforming forwards

Because they are playing under good coaches
