Of course there is. Replacing a highly paid quota spot player for a much cheaper English player who both play to roughly the same level is ideal business. It frees up salary cap and a quota spot while keeping a similar level of ability in the squad.
Having a player who has played over 150 games as 4/5th choice is much better than a 18 year old who has played less than 10 games.
It's a big improvement to a, and this is the key word, 'squad'.

But there is as it would free up a quota space and a decent chuck of salary cap when comparing the 2 players they would add the same amount to the squad aswell as keeping a couple of 18 year old kids being subjected to SL every week when they're not ready.
It's about trying to manage the cap while maintaining a decent squad, something which we've got badly wrong over the last couple of years.

Don't use logic. It confuses them

Need at least 3 forwards and more worrying a hooker.

That's a minimum, would like a couple more and a winger, but there is a real lack of quality out contract.

Have to use Evans, Lovodua and possible Sao's quota spots for overseas upgrades.

I'd try and get Gildart too and release Carlos giving us another spot.

Bring in two props and two wide forwards.

I think out 1, 6 and 7 will come good behind a good pack.

Think we need to get Balmforth back and give him a few games, see if he is good enough to play SL next year.

Gildart would be a huge upgrade on Carlos

Fingers crossed smith pearson have gildart on mind

I watched Hoy, on one last tackle during a Salford breakout , had his hands around the Salford player's arms holding the ball and , literally gave up any attempt at keeping him out, it was pathetic, but the Salford players merely had to stand or beat the first tackle , off load and there followed a try or near try. Sneyd, for all his bagging here for his last spell, is a player reborn and looking the part and there was a definite difference in Salford , compared to Hull, in terms of structure, desire and ability. It is time to accept, even by optimistic fans, that this club is spralling, fast, with possibly only Wakey as bad, which gives us a slim chance of avoiding relegation. That is how bad we were. Not one player for me has any credit left, now. We just don't have the quality and the players to return, will not fix up that amount of holes in the side. I fear this could be the start of a massive period of decline, maybe the word rebuild doesn't apply solely to the squad, now. We could end up playing in a division which is notoriously difficult to escape, until a money backer finds some love for us and we can buy our back. All the smoke and mirrors we get, don't fool me anymore, although it did look obvious Savelio and Sao, two players that are way better than they were yesterday, were nowhere near full fitness. They were appalling , which is never the word I'd use on either players game , previously.

To be honest I can't really argue with much if any of what you say. That performance on Saturday is up there as one of the worst and most gutless efforts I have witnessed and by hell I've seen a few. There is something that is fundamentally wrong within the playing squad at this club and as we have changed some of the players and gone through a number of coaches the only remaining factor is the old guard that are still at the club.

Some players just aren't hungry enough or just can't be bothered anymore (despite all the guff that they spout) and some of it is seemingly affecting/rubbing off on the rest.

I just hope that TS takes them to task and holds them accountable, though I'm starting to feel its all a bit de ja vu and another season of what was dished up on Saturday could well finish this club. I'm not sure that the fanbase could stomach or withstand any more of those performances before finally deciding enough is enough.
The fact so many left just after halftime shows the feel good factor has pretty much been erroded already and the same poop different week factor is now back in the mindset of the clubs lifeblood,

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Agree with both of you. The goodwill and patience of the fans has been utterly exhausted now.
I left 15 mins after half time, I've just had enough of those gutless displays. If we have another season of regularly seeing those my pass renewal will be in serious doubt.

"I hope we get to the bottom of the answer"

I think the worst game I can remember was away at Saints, think it was 84. FC we’re reported to have signed 3 South Africans to replace the Kiwis. Abject performance by the entire team in solidarity with their co players. The South Africans signed for Wigan instead. Saturday was far and away the worst performance of an FC first team I have ever seen. It was the stuff of nightmares but the real nightmare is that I just can’t see another win even Wakey raise their game when they play us, because they know they can win, look at the recent results of the fixture. This downward spiral has been going on for 5 years and unfortunately this could well be our last season in top flight, especially with the IMG plans.
ps Keith, Bob and the rest of the mob will cream their knickers.

No chance we won't be in SL, luckily very little is judged on league performance. Saying that we deserve to be in, there certainly aren't 10 sides better than us on and off the field.

Need to start producing regularly on the pitch though
