Plus points for us was that we’ll obviously score lots of points again and in terms of individuals, I thought Wardle looked pure class. He just moves like a natural athlete and he plays with his head up.
Wardle played well in the Salford pre season game and the KR game. The best thing is no way is he 100% clicking with the team. So more to come I think.
How did King get on? He can carry a ball I’ll give him that any defensive slip ups?

Much improved from last week, but my god Wakey are a poor side - both in players and in the way they are coached. You look at their left edge with Langi and Murphy and you'd have at least expected then to have a try down that edge.
Thought Singleton was poor again. I'm sure he did plenty of work in defence, but there's just nothing there in regards to getting us on that front foot ball. Other players seem to make a couple of metres and still find thier front. Singleton hits the line, crumples and then gets up. It's night and day between him and someone like Cooper.

Wakefield had 3 play the balls in our half until 39 mins.
Peet justified with his picks, Isa was very good.
Wakefield were absolutely appalling. Lee Gaskell at full back, Langi at 6. Good lord.

I was happy with King. It looked far more solid with Isa down that side but then Wakey were rank. King did really well to set the first try up for French and he carried really strong out of our end all night. It was a step in the right direction after last week.

Agree A bit of a nonentity of a game but for King a bit of a builder. Wakefield were appalling. One of the worst teams I’ve ever seen. A positive for me was some good early kicks from Powell that were accurate, deep and a good follow up plus the break from the scrum. Thought the play from the scrum was inventive and executed pretty well. Good to see some new plays.
Couldn't make it tonight but Harry Smith stood out in the highlights. Good response from Wigan but Cas away will be the main indicator of what we've learnt and where we are.
Looks like Wakefield are way off and could be in real trouble, particularly as it feels like a number of clubs have upped their game and the general quality of SL in the opening games looks to be on the up (thankfully).
Can't disagree with most of that. I was hoping for a better showing from King, after last week's poor effort, and, to be fair, he was much improved. As were the whole team. But yes, Wakey were poor. How many times did we pass our way through their defence without them laying a glove to the try-scorer? That's just not good enough at SL level. But Jeez, it was cold! Perhaps it's just me getting old, but I stopped off in my local for a quick pint on the way home, got back and fired up the woodburner, and I'm only now starting to thaw out!
Still, I'll be at Cas next week!
I thought Cust in particular was much improved, he deserved his try.

Agree about Cust. We all said the same thing. He looks slimmer and sharper.

Wakey didn't offer much especially first half, but the attitude in defence at the end was great. Would have been easy at 40,50 and 60 points up to fall off a tackle or not bother sliding properly, but the attitude to keep it to 0 was excellent.
