I think they are, probably justifiably, concerned that this team won’t get the credit or be remembered in the way they deserve. A lot of folk are just jaded with the game. This is a great achievement but it was a game I had zero interest in watching as a neutral.

Edit 2: on reflection, I wonder if they’re (well, those on here that are) maybe, at least subconsciously, trying to provoke any sort of response. Where earlier SL dynasties had a degree of novelty, we’re now at the ‘oh, another dynasty’ phase. Interminable platitudes about sport being cyclical and Rome not being built in a day. At least people disliked Wane-era Wigan, perhaps that is better than being ignored. He said, having posted nearly exclusively about Saints this weekend. It could be working!
