Sunday is an opportunity to get back to winning ways when The Broncos visit The Shay. It will be interesting to see SG's team selection for this one with presumably Maher and maybe Doro in the team. What we do know is Fairbank will be out under the 10 day head injury rule and maybe Maizen out after injury to his shoulder. London having lost narrowly to Batley then beating Whitehaven by a similar margin could be anything, it's up in the air but i would expect home advantage to see us get the points. Fax 30v16 London.
Hear All, See All, Say Nowt. Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt. And if Tha ever does Owt for Nowt, Allus do it for Thissen.
This season the head injury recovery has been extended to 11days. I think Maizen will be rested and Tibbs will come in. Really hoping Doro will play as I want to see him causing havoc in the opposition defence. We need to clean our goal line defence up. Most of Febs trys were close range. If we can defend our line consistently most teams will struggle to score against us. A Panthers win 28 - 14
Think there is a possibility that walmsey might be unavailable as a reoccurring groin problem was mentioned, it’ll give him a couple of weeks rest before the Widnes game and I expect rawsthorne and tibbs to be like for like replacements. Hopefully we will see doro and Maher play a part . Be interesting to see if inman is selected as both wood and him did ok in their respective games .
I think this could be a tricky game for us and we will need to be patient to get the job done but I see us pulling away towards the last 20 and winning by 28-12. We will be a bit battered after last sunday with the players mentioned carry injurys so there could be a few changes there and one or two others could do with upping there game for me.
I watched last years game at the Shay on youtube last night and was surprised how poor both teams were at times, our defence was much better but when in possession it was littered with a number of knock on's, incorrect play the balls with a low completion rate and we will need to be much better today.
Second home game that we've won which we could easily have lost. Generally outplayed in the forwards, at least until Doro came on, and very clunky in attack. Positives Salty doing what he's done nearly every game, running ball in harder and more often than our forwards, Matty Gee running his blood to water, Kavanagh running some great lines off Keyes and JWH by some way looking our most dangerous player in attack. Also really pleased with impact Doro made and his fantastic run for a try - looks an ideal replacement for Titus. Thought though generally their forwards ran the ball in harder than ours, possibly on back of this our halves were as ineffective as I can remember, no idea how Keyes got MOTM. Also, and hate saying this but so far Maher looks exactly the same player that he was a few years ago when on loan with us. Really hope King gets a chance next week, listening to Grix after the Featherstone game he doesn't seem impressed so far so probably unlikely to happen.
Not a great match to watch. We did some nice moves but over all it felt very flat. Meatier team were that good and pliant but f mistakes. Again our goal line defence looks weak this year. We need to be improving in all areas of the park. I think keys didn’t have a great game and was surprised he was given MOM. I would have given it to Doro. He ran had defended well and got a try. Onto Widnes
