I’d fancy our chances with a fully fit 17 including Newman, Macdonald, Oledzki and Bentley, but that’s not looking anywhere near likely.
And we were excellent pre season last year, how did that go?
Rhyse Martin said in an interview they didn’t even go with any game plans in Pre Season it was just about practice.
Writing them off after a couple of pre season games is just stupid.
If Smith has no plans to use Edwards why would it make a difference? Its been said that Edwards wanted first team rugby this year but was told that wouldn't be happening. Smith doesn't seem keen to use teenagers, and Simpson might not have played many games even if he was fit, let alone Edwards.
We may only be without Newman/MacDonald for a couple of games, and behind them we've got Roberts, Olpherts, Martin, McDonnell, and Handley who can all play in the centres. I don't see the point in keeping Edwards at the club if he's 6th or 7th pick and unwilling to wait a year or so. I understand Edwards' views, but like I say if he was some kind of mega prospect he wouldn't be joining York - there are plenty of other SL sides who he could get a game for if he was ready.
I couldn’t care less about the pre season results or performance. Used to try certain aspects and blow off cobwebs. Whatever was done is done. The only thing that counts now is Warrington away. I’m not going to write anyone off before a ball is passed in anger.

Agreed. And even after the first few rounds. We all know too well that the emphasis in Super League is how you build during the year. You get now prozws for smashing teams out of the water at the start of the year if you can't maintain it.

True but if we have an iffy start then im sure the usual keyboard coaches on the Leeds social media sites will be lobbing in their two penneth of banal suggestions and new coaches needed after half an hour on Thursday.
Regular as clockwork.

Saying it's a joke that Joel Moon wasn't even in the team
