September What do we already know? The following are half-way through 2 year deals: - Will Lovell - Rian Horsman - Lewis Bienek - Iliess Macani - Dean Parata - Oli Leyland 12th – Mike Eccles revealed after full-time that several key players from this year’s squad have committed to the Broncos badge next season and he expects to make some announcements imminently. 14th – Wellington Albert re-signs 16th – Paul Ulberg re-signs 17th – Alex Walker re-signs 20th – Dalton Grant re-signs 22nd – Sam Davis signs permanently (loan last season) 23rd – Jordan Williams re-signs Month Summary A very good start. 12 players all signed up who are worth their place in the squad.
October 6th – Jarred Bassett signs 14th – Marcus Stock signs 14th – Ronny Palumbo re-signs 21st – Jensen Monk graduates from Academy 21st – Euan Parke graduates from Academy 21st – Dan Hoyes graduates from Academy Month Summary So, so. Missing a couple of stellar signings which in combination with the six signings this month would have given the month a high grading.
November 1st – Pre-Season starts. The autumn break has been anything but quiet for Eccles, with 12 deals confirmed since the Broncos hosted Barrow Raiders on the final day of the 2022 season. “We’re close to striking deals with several players currently playing in the World Cup,” said Eccles. “We’re hopeful we’ll be in a position to have those names announced in December.” 19th - Henry Raiwalui signs 28th - Ethan Natoli signs Month Summary Two additions slightly ahead of schedule. So a positive for international recruitment, not great domestically.
December Month Summary Absolutely nothing and time to worry
January 10th - Eccles expressed the importance of recruiting the correct calibre of player, adding that he will not be rushed into signing players simply to make up the numbers. Conversations are being held daily and he hopes to confirm some new recruits later this month. “We’re having conversations every day,” said Eccles. “We did miss out on a few names, but we’re making progress on bringing in some more bodies. 16th – Squad Numbers Announced. So now we also know the following are retained: - Bill Leyland - Max Allen - Jack Howorth 17th - Ronny Palumbo departs Month Summary It gets worse, our recruitment on the month is minus 1 (we just weren’t told before about Leyland, Allen and Howorth). It’s not going well.
February 1st - Emmanuel Waine signs 3rd - Ramon Silva joins on a one month loan 9th - Harvie Hill joins on a one month loan 9th - Zach Eckersley joins on a one month loan Day Summary One day in and a good day for recruitment with a player that looks a fit rather than a body filling exercise. Backs up Eccles comments in January. Month Summary The Wigan loans have helped out. Silva has stood out. Waine signed on the 1st day of the month but sightings of him have been as elusive as of Raiwalui during this month. It was a short month mind!
March 3rd - Abbas Miski joins on a dual registration 16th - Jacob Jones joins on a five week loan

The memory cheats but in our last season as a full time team we announced squad numbers on New Years Eve, over the course of a couple of hours and announced a number of new signings. Those days have gone. This season we appear to have recruited decent quality but not in volume. The amount that have gone through the exit door though is a huge number which pretty much tells you how successful the brave new dawn was. This year we really do need to make progress. Let’s see how it goes. I’m confident we won’t have to put up with the nonsense we saw against Widnes and Haven last year but you never know.

Added short term loans Harvie Hill and Zach Eckersley.
As far as we know every player is in the final year of their two-year contract, on a one-year contract or on a short term loan. Maybe the new Academy graduates get longer contracts but I assume not.
So technically come the end of the season, every player will be out of contract.

And Hughes will as usual leave it far too late......unless he has investors lined up, but needs IMG to assure them of SL status and no relegation.....which won't sit well with our northern cousins.
