I’ve been told that we are not at the actual salary cap this season and the club have cleverly said we’re at cap meaning the internal cap that the club set for the season.
I understand that we have invested a fair amount of money on the infrastructure of the club. Facilities, coaching staff etc so have opted to not spend as much on playing staff this season and then can make some big moves next season with so many OOC.
Back ups at Newcastle will still be on mega money as their cap is much higher than ours and Clifford was also not signed as a back up pivot for Newcastle so I imagine was on a fair Whack.

No chance
If he's on 60k then we are nowhere near the cap
25 players in the squad on 60k is only 1.5m !
Likes of hoy, Clifford won't be on mega money as they was both back ups for Newcastle
Not escaping the fact the huge gulf between the salary cap in SL and the NRL even fringe NRL players are often being paid the same if not more than SL players at the higher end of the pay scale. Whilst Clifford & Hoy won’t be on marquee money they’ll probably be a on a big wedge and be up there in terms of highest earners which in relation to NRL pay is probably only the average players salary.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
