Whilst some of the interviews with players are full of the usual preseason stuff there definitely seems to be a subtle difference coming across from the 'cut & paste' stuff from previous seasons. I think so far its fair to say that as we suspected the players under previous regimes were just not held to account in most aspects and simply in too much of a comfort zone and in most case ruled the roost so to speak. Its refreshing to hear that things have changed and that they have all been given rules by the Head Coach and made aware or what is expected from them. I just wonder when Shaul mentions that rules have been put in place and they have to stick to them whether some players may have already tested the threshold, maybe not intentionally but due to old bad habits and learnt that the Head Coach means business in this regard?

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Not sure where Shaul fits in at the moment, but I am sure he will get some gametime if he impresses Smith. By all accounts, Hoy has impressed with his attitude and fitness so far, and Clifford is currently in Departures ready to fly over, so he will be at training back end of the week

I find it funny shaul claims he wasn’t getting treated fairly. Has been a great servant to the club but Connor was definitely the better full back and he was never a natural winger.
Did he just expect to walk into the side? Is he going to down tools if smith selects Hoy over him then.
And slagging off ex coach to paper, I’d move him off for that alone. Personal grudges should stay in house

Realist, really!!! We’ve got players under contract for another 12 months. What do you suggest we do with them? Tony Smith said it was a new start. FFS give it a chance.

It was a New start when smith walked through the door. 5 weeks into preseason already showing a poor attitude.
Obviously, you can only move a player on if someone’s willing to take him and he’s willing to go. Attitude is everything on the rugby pitch. If a players attitude isn’t up to it then their cap space is wasted. Too many players refusing to accept responsibility for the club’s failures and are wanting to point the blame somewhere else

Presumably he got offered first choice full back money when he signed that 3 year extension.
He's not a first choice 17 player anymore, when he was selected he was either average or worse.
Can't really blame the club for wanting to shift him. Poor cap value and poor attitude.
That's a concern that we will potentially have three of our biggest earners not making the 17, potentially Houghton too and Evans if he doesn't improve his game this year Think Tony Smith was spot on when he said Quota players need to be top notch.

Good to see some honesty in the press rather than quotes straight from Clark being attributed to players. I can still see Shaul moving on.
Really hope Cator can get back to the player he was but he’s had rotten luck and is looking very lightweight. Sutcliffe absolutely dwarves him in the training photos.

But we hear this "honest" talking every great pre season
Time to stop talking and start putting rights from last 3 seasons from majority of the same players still their
Our signings are promising though likes of Sutcliffe and dwyer strong super league players last few years

Good to see them getting stuck in to a hills and skills session on Beverley Westwood this morning and how tough is Tex running around in just a top and shorts.
