I reckon it’s about 3/4 done for the initial steel, probably a couple weeks weather dependant for the crane and the steel structure be in place. Silos are there now also so masonry will be starting once the structure is completed probabaly well on target knowing how Morgan Sindall work
Just a random thought, If Cas get the funding that we’ve had via the same route Id expect them to try and top us with their stadium build. Their reasoning, I think will be because of the IMG grading.
I’m not concerned but just throwing it in there for discussion

The cost of building materials is going up all the time. They're a long way off starting to build. Not sure plans have been submitted yet and know how long it took for us from being heard by the planning committee.

In Halifax we were getting a new bus station, train station and pool/leisure centre. Only the bus station is going ahead the other 2 have been put on hold due to expense

Is their proposal still linked into another development? Our advantage is that we are just replacing something that was already there, in reality, and improving something that was already there. Perhaps easier to get going than something new that is dependent on other parties building other things.
EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN
As I understand it the retail park build which was going to finance Cas's new stadium fell through and Cas now want to develop their existing ground, just as we are.Not sure here, but I think the company involved with the retail park were hoping to get planning to change to commercial, and if that came about Cas were wanting the developers to pay for/contribute to the stadium rebuild/upgrade.Don't quote me on this, it's all from memory, and some of it may not be the case.Cas (and Fev) will also get the 2 mil from the council I think.
My thoughts on Cas trying to top us is that they may build a smaller grandstand in favour of developing another 2 or maybe all 3 of the other stands. They may only build the equivalent of 3 elongated bus shelters with toilets and outlets in them and 1 decent grandstand but from the outside it’ll look like a whole new stadium much the same as Salfords new stadium.
There is then an argument that they are better placed than we are for the future especially if you factor in they can regularly get 8,000 crowds
