No, you're right. There's nothing electric there. There's no Jai Field or Bevan French style pure pace but for me there are a lot of other qualities in abundance in the backs we will put out. There will be a lot of proper hard nosed rugby intelligence and know how on display. Players who know how to win in tight fought contests of which, hopefully, there will be quite a few next season. We should also be very solid at centre, defensively in particular.
I'm ok with the ones we've got. It would be fantastic to have the likes of Field and French but players of that quality do not, as they say, grow on trees. Maybe for another season.
"*Second row Sam Stone, who has been released by Leigh due to the club’s quota numbers, has been linked with a move to neighbours Salford. The son of former Huddersfield Giants coach, Rick Stone, Stone junior was a key member of last season’s successful squad."

Seriously?
Obviously Storm said no. Our spots are taken. We move on. Leigh are not short of second row.
Stone is one who I would of liked to keep in our ranks but if he was looking for a move suppose we weren’t in a position gamble and needed to firm up our recruits. Wish him all the best whatever he does , part of a formidable team last year and never let us down once

We were always going to have to release a few we wouldn't have wanted to, the quota being what it is.

Sam confirmed at Salford where he joins Sid and Andrew Dixon - four new signings for Paul Rowley's lot of which three are ex-Leythers. Furthermore, Kris Inu has now joined Kurt Heggarty as assistant coach!
