What one person sees as being difficult, is acceptable to another. To some, a guy like Wane could easily be labelled as difficult. Thompson got stick for not taking a pay cut etc. Gelling got grief for being more laid back. Are they bad eggs, or different personalities? Hastings might be prickly, or a bit of a loner but he always struck me as someone who gives maximum effort.
Does a team not need different types of people? The kind who'll keep moral up Vs the kind with mean competitive streak etc?
Talking of Gelling I think his performances for the Cook Islands off the back of little rugby the last few years was impressive but he’s obviously got troubles with him not seeing out the tournament.
I know he made people pull their hair out but I believe there was a top talent in their that didn’t reach its potential.
