Absolute rubbish, Myler has been class for us at full back, there is no reason why he couldn’t still be playing at 34. If he was to play on you’d expect a 1 year deal and a lower contract value than his current, but to rule him out on age alone is just daft.

Lol. So you predict with certainty that in 2 and a half years he'll still be a top player coming into his 35th year? Enough certainty to offer him a contract now? Have you not seen what happened to Prior this year? Next year was more than enough. After that he should be on rolling one-year contracts.
35 is not the new 25. 35 is very old for a top athlete.

So name me a top class 35-year old fullback. Or a 34-year old. Its not a position you can hide loss of speed in, unlike halfbacks to a degree where others can help cover for them. I'm not saying I'm certain he won't be up to it, but there's more chance he'll be past it by then than he'll be as good as he is now. Like you say, that's a decision to be made during 2024, when it will be fairly obvious how he's going. Absolutely no reason to make that call now.

They were all top quality though. So they're drop off left them still high in terms of standards. Myler's had a bit of a swansong and played really well for us, but you'd hope there's a longer term plan. Could be Hooley then Edgell

So an update from todays coffee catch up. The swap deal is a young player who wants more game time for a experienced player, no names or positions given as it should be announced next week. I did ask who is getting the better deal and he is really adamant we are, so fingers crossed I suppose. Centre wise apparently we are still in for Nene Macdonald and it could be announced next week, but there could be a twist he said lol. Very cryptic today, not really sure what I’m taking from this. I will update again on Sunday.
