I think we are a victim of timing here, our centres of Gildart and Wardle would have been ideal. Obviously would have had to fit under the cap under the existing set up so maybe not. Who knows though, in twelve months timing may work out in our favour (unless King turns out to be a great signing).

rumours on warriors fans that Bateman to Oz and Singleton to Leigh. Would help us cap wise to recruit, but doesnt help with non-quota, so would need to be some good UK trained players available to replace

Unless we are bringing Thompson in I think this would be a terrible move personally.
Singleton has been a key cog in our pack.
Ok he may not always make big meters but he does all the subtle horrible niggling stuff that the other props don’t.
He carried our pack pre Peet at times and I still personally think he has a significant place in out main Prop rotation.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

Losing Bateman would be a big blow, but on 2022 form he's not irreplaceable, let's be honest. KPP more than capable of filling that void, for a year at least. Although if it's true and the club knew Bateman was leaving, letting Nicholson go to Wire now seems like a real slip up.
Singo can go for me, he's had good games here and there but he's pretty average for the most part and his PTB is so slow at times it's looking more and more Clubb'like. Plus would anyone say he's in front of any of Cooper, Byrne, Havard, Ellis, Mago? Ok he does more minutes than Mago, but has far less impact. And he was ahead of Ellis for the business end, but that was more down to a drop in form from Ellis 2nd half of the year than an upturn in form from Singo. Ellis from early 2022 gets in over Singo everyday day of the week. Good squad player, but if he can get more money and longer contract from Leigh, then fair play to him.

I saw pictures of Singleton training with Charnley and Asiata yesterday, so I guess that’s where the rumours have come from. Sam Powell looked to be there as well and isn’t he in business with Stephen Wild at a gym in Wigan? I know Powell and Charnley are big mates, so I think it might just be a 2+2=5 situation. I can’t see Powell and/or Singleton being let go tbh.

Powell and Charnley regularly fish together.
