He's a good player, but he isn't 10 x the player of anyone in SL.
Not really. King is one of the worst defensive players I've seen in the modern game.
Gildart's got two faults, both of which aren't really his fault. He's had a bad time with injuries and he had the audacity to leave Wigan. Now he's just done a full season, so he could be over point 1 and we can ignore the idiotic nature of Wigan fans for point 2.
The guys got an impressive highlights reel showcasing big moments in big games. I think back to GF, WCC and International moments that King could only dream of.
Of course Wire would rather have Wardle (I would too), but to a man they'll be more than happy with Gildart over King.

Point 1 is not something you can brush aside. He certainly was injured, so much so that I can barely remember the last time he played for us ... it must have been pretty serious, which might explain his lack of impact in the NRL, but it's not something you can safely assume is just over.
Point 2 is a huge assumption on your part. Just saying "everyone's dumb but me and Oli" is never likely to win you an argument.
Also, near enough any pro player can put together an impressive highlights reel.
Anyway, at least now he'll be back with his old mate, George. Just what Warrington need with their current record for backroom indiscipline.

You’ve got a point in that both are risks and both us and whoever signs Gildart will be hoping they return to previous form. Gildart for me had a more prolonged period of good form and did well for England whereas I think King maybe hit a higher peak but over a shorter period (dream team selection). Both are 26 so both have the potential to get back to those levels if not higher but I think a lot on this forum would have chosen King because he’s a new face (we’ve been burnt by returning players before) and some feel like Gildart left off the back of a half arsed effort season (played through injuries). If Gildart does join Warrington I think I agree with yourself that he will do better than King but that’s not a confident call and he’s far from 10x the player King is.

He does look to be heading to the Dolphins. May get a longer run of games there but never been convinced he has the physicality to match it with the NRL outside backs. Would be a great fit for Warrington if they did get him.

Gildart and Wardle would be ideal as a centre pairing. Gildart will be on big money though. Maybe even marquee money if he returned to SL and I don't think we should pay him that.

It's an assumption based off nearly every Wigan player that leaves, or is linked with leaving, suddenly becomes either trouble or that not that good.
It's ok to not rate a player that's not playing well, or isn't "good enough", but not liking them because they dared to leave us is laughable. I can give you a list as long as my arm of players who suddenly went from world beaters to dead beats. Nothing changed, it's just they didn't play for Wigan anymore. Likewise I can give you a similar list of players that Wigan fans laughed at when they didn't play for us and are now suddenly untouchable.
You've kinda proven my with last point. This fictitious trouble maker tag that gets thrown at people who leave. I don't like Williams because he's too run orientated and his short kicking game used to drive me crazy. He's not a trouble maker tho is he. We wouldn't have offered him a record deal if he was.
Edit - nor would Wane have just named him captain on Saturday. The troublemaker tag just doesn't stack up.
