This looks (on paper) a great signing. And Smith knows him, so must be confident. Pack is looking pretty strong now.
But we must still bring in a centre. Ideally McDonald. My theory was Fusitua going home, but Lisone and him grew up together and he says it's one of the reasons he's coming. Could be Gildart.
Best option would be that Prior goes to another club (with some of his salary covered by us) and we bring in McDonald. Walters and Tindall out on loan to Bradford.

Cant see Prior leaving, but at least now we can hopefully use him less to get the most out of the games he does play. Alot rests on Holroyd being fit and playing the bulk of the season and Tet not getting bans.

Lisone & Sangare certainly makes our pack look far punchier for 2023 2023 is a very big year for Tom Holroyd as he really needs to kick on at SL level now as he has so much unfulfilled talent and potential to be a real star of our game. In 2018 he played for the England Academy side that beat the Australia schoolboys and TBH he hasn't really kicked on since then for one reason or another. Looking at other players in that game like Jack Welsby, Harry Newman, Harry Smith, Ethan Harvard, Morgan Smithies, Olly Wilson and even Owen Trout who we let go have all made a big impact in SL For the Aussies that night Stephen Crichton and Jack Dearden have both played at Origin level since then

Holroyd intimidated the Aussies that day at Headingley. I think he’ll come good yet.

I'm not denying he could be fitter, but in general with forwards you either get high impact or high endurance. People who come on to make an impact generally only do it in short bursts

Agree with Eagle. We'll see a very different front row rotation with Sangare, Lisone and hopefully Holroyd doing shorter stints but with real oomph. Oledzki and Tetevano will still play longer minutes but keep the structure solid. Plenty of NRL clubs use props like this, and injuries aside probably plan on 6 out of 8 interchanges being props.

Interesting Peter Smith article in the YEP. Reviews the squad position for position and notes centre is now the weakest link. Mentions Nene McDonald and lack of overseas spaces. Notes there would have to be further departures for this to happen. Never says as much as knows, Mr Smith, but he does infer something might be afoot.

Hmm seems to suggest the squad not quite finished yet does Peter.. certainly centre is now the weak spot
