I'm not too excited about Russell as a Hull fan. Seems too slow and decision making isn't the best.

English is a good up young middle for me, but would be interested to know your thoughts....

Think Jake will go really well for you lot. He's what you need, when at times you had become a bit predictable. He'll have a heck of a lot more attacking support than he did at Hull

English is a good hardworking prop. We have loads of cover in this area and he seems to have fallen behind the likes of Trout and Wilson but I would still be sorry to see him go.

Russell is a good organiser but does sometimes go missing in games and from a Giants point of view is too similar to Fages.

He is a good player Jake but will never be world class as his lack of pace will always be his achilles heel especially at full back and his defence is poor but thats partly due to his lack of pace

With Watson's processes I am hopeful our wingers will be more successful at reading his passes.

connor is a class player. sorry to see him go, but we are moving in a different direction it would seem, can go missing in games and can spit his dummy out, But can win you games to, Maverick player, IMO when fit should always be in the England squad.

Russell has been very hit and miss, sometimes good, other times anonymous. I really wasn’t happy with him at the start of the year, and he seemed to play his best stuff with cogger, then went off a bit again when with fages. I agree they are too similar. He’s never going to be amazing. Same with his goal kicking, some days he nails every one from the touchline, other days he can’t even kick the sitters.
I really will be sorry to see English go, and really really hope this rumour isn’t true. A great prop forward who gives his absolute best to the C&G. You won’t get anything fancy from him, he won’t score many, no line running, no step, he runs direct, but always does that full pelt and is one of those weird guys that seems to relish the collision. Works hard in defence.
I have a great deal of respect for him both on and off the field. He went through a lot as a young forward as he was really close to Ronan Costello and what happened must have hit him very hard and yet he never ever shirks.

A really poor signing in my book.

He’s 27. Hardly old.
He’s not a troublemaker, not sure where you get that idea from. He’s a wind up merchant of opposition players- but there’s no issue with Jake in the dressing room, or outside of the game either.
I’ll give you slow. But he’s always been that.

How funny that FC have been using Connors image to try sell shirts and season tickets for next season too.

1. The brochure would have being designed long ago.

2. We generally dont need to try and sell tickets or shirts. We averaged over 10k before Connor and will after.

I'm really not sure about this, the one thing we needed more than anything in the halves was speed and the ability to run at the line, Conner does not possess this, it looks to me like there will be too many chiefs and not enough indians. If we had players like Field and French to feed off the distribution from Connor and Lolohea then WOW, but we don't... Will him and lolohea get in each others way? He is DEFINITELY not a centre, he's way too slow and for me has to play at 6, but alongside Fages.. not sure. I'm not sorry to see Russell go, hes not top SL standard, sad to see English go, but like many have said we have so many in that position and he was always a small prop with a massive haert which can only take you so far.
