Think Leeming will be a lot better next season. Was playing pretty well until he got injured. O'connor better at moment and also have Johnson (not seen anything of him lately)

I’m starting to find this quite tiresome. One of the reasons I avoid the Facebook groups. I suspect most of the issue people have with Leeming is that we signed him from Huddersfield. Well guess what, they were far better then us when he came.
Dwyer has definitely served his purpose at the club. He's not what we need.
O'Connor and Leeming could be a decent combo next year. But I still think we are missing something there. More control, organisation and dynamism. More Buderus like....
If it's just "control" people are after, then fair enough, but it just isn't enough for me for a top hooker. When I watched him against Castleford, apart from one supporting try , I could have done what he did, maybe the flair is going out of the game, and everything is too structured. Ok, Dwyer maybe not times better, slight exaggeration, but certainly a lot better. The 3 hookers from the top championship sides are, Brandon moore, Conor Jones, and Edwin Ipape. Just saying.
Comparisons between Leeming and Dwyer are a bit bogus in my opinion. Leeming offers more of a strategic game whilst in possession whilst Dwyer has that unpredictable but undeniable running threat. Sadly, what they both have in common is substandard defence for a hooker. It's such an important (often ignored by fans) part of the game. Given that they are both physically mature players it's to hard to see how they are going to improve that significantly at this stage. O’Connor, on the other hand, defends excellently and his attacking play continues to improve. Would not be surprised to see him as the starting nine next year.

Dwyer scores a try, does a few bits nice of the eye but usually stops the team playing well. That’s the point the way he plays stops the team functioning. It isn’t just control it’s about using the assets in a team to win and having a 9 who can’t allow the rest of the team to function properly is no good. Probably go well at Hull, they are a team filled with individual players, some mavericks like Connor. They have some good results, can look good but never really around at the business end of the season.
We don't get anywhere near that performance last night with Dwyer taking O'connors spot. I don't get how people are so blind to his deficiencies.
Flair is great and Smith is really encouraging the team to play with flair, but you need a 9 who can pass the ball accurately and consistently because he kills most attacks. HOW MANY TIMES!

Leeming was fantastic until he got injured. Dwyer defo rocks n diamonds but he’s been entertaining and good value player for us in a difficult period. Won us more games than he lost us but its the right time to move him on. Oconnor looks great at 9 and then move into back at points in the game.
Then there is the lad in the academy who us well thought of is if Jonah Parsons. And i haven’t mentioned the potential “messiah” Think we look good for 9 options

Good lord.

But he isn't "alot better"... Flair isn't going out of the game, you have to know when to use that flair for the good of the team. Having flair isn't enough to be a top hooker either.
