Be very interesting to see what the outputs re MRP are from this game. Rohan Smith very calmly increased the focus on decisions last week by highlighting the process followed by Leeds which forced the hurried detailed statement then released by the RFL. Tomkins then commenting on Sky regardong the Martin ban validity followed by Smith highlighti ng Tomkins harassing referres which played out on the night puts golden boy firmly in the spotlight. Sky played this down and deliberately did not reference the diving/gamesmanship aspect. Rohan then in his press conferece calmly said he thought game was fine no dodgy tackles except dudson headbutt and Tomkins clearly dived. This gives the RFL a couple of options ban Dudson and probably Pearce and ignore everyting else including actiins of the crowd and move on. Not right but probably best option for Leeds. Or throw the book at Catalan and Leeds will cop some collateral damage could end up 5 bans for cats and 2 dor Leeds. If this happens Tomkins becomes the story and jeopordises his sky contract and taints him for the world cup. It will be interesting to see what happens.

It was called out in commentary by Baz and Wells. Don't recall Clarke even mentioning it, though I may have missed it as I tend to tune out when he gets going.

Myler has played a big part in our resurgence. He is an extremely intelligent player.

Yes a ban for Bentley would be very damaging, that would mean no Martin, Gannon or Bentley which leaves us really short in the back row. I think Catalans should face fairly serious consequences for that kind of action. Not just the players but the club. You simply cannot have a game which is meant to attract families and children with supporters throwing missiles and abusing refs and visiting players. I know every club has people slagging off refs but last night got a bit ridiculous. Even more so when it’s one of the only sporting events on and it’s meant to be some of the top teams in the competition playing.

Good win. I'd rather face Sts than Wigan next, not because I think we can beat them but rather because I don't think we can. They are a step up in class from Catalans and we haven't really got close to beating them even under Smith. If we could beat them we would be in great shape for a GF. More likely it will show that until we strengthen in some positions we are still some way off.

Since moving to full back I think he's playing the best rugby of his career.

I agree.
But I just think he's in excellent form.
He's also played really well in the halves recently.

If we lose Bentley and Gannon, and if Newman is back.
I would play Zak at FB, Austin at LF and Myler in the halves at Wigan.

Terrific tough performance by the boys. Anything we get from now is a bonus. It’s a hugely positive end the season.. we’ve nothing to lose at Wigan. I’m sure it’ll be a good tough game. Fingers crossed no bans, we deserve some luck on that front and it’d take away from the spectacle

They will be conscious too that they want on to win grand finals from 5th when they had nothing to lose got though the semi and won the final well. Nowt to lose boys ,pressure on Wigan

Soon we will be dancing the Fandango
