One of Smith's other primary challenges will be recruitment. The club has already signed a number of players for next season, leaving salary cap space tight. However, changes are expected, with both incomings and outgoings likely. The club does have one quota spot unoccupied.
Wonder if any moves for Longstaff will be put on hold now?
I honestly think Smith will improve some of the existing squad, so I feel fairly relaxed about recruitment now. Certainly more confident than if we were going into next season with the previous coaching team.

As previously said, Griffin’s agent has been active in trying to secure him a deal at a new club. Hopefully Taylor but can’t see it personally. Can’t see anyone else to be shown the door but you never know.

Houghton out on loan if we've got Dwyer, Lovodua and Balmforth?

Pretty sure Pearson will of identified the players at the centre of the rot and briefed Smith.
I guess the balls in Smiths court if he gives them a second chance or if he's been told they are getting moved on, time will tell.
Sounded like Houghton had an option in his favour, not sure he l get much gametime at all. I think he l be backup incase of Injurys.
Would be a bonus getting Taylor and Griffin moved on to strengthen further and as has been touched on in the media article, we may see the above being paid off or moved on as the "surprising" ones.
One can hope.
Me I cannot wait to see Carlos, Savelio, Cator, Trueman, Hoy, Dywer, Sutcliffe out there alongside the likes of Connor, Satae and Sao. If the youngsters can push on and develop we have a good platform
Also with Tony Smith, does he allow his attacking players the freedom of they can pretty much make it up as they go along which seems to of been the case under Hodgson, or does he prefer a more structured approach?
I think it's absolutely needed that we start to see some structured plays and the basics all been doing correctly again.
