That is the figure Trueman went back to Radders and Lasty with - saying Hull were offering it, he was told to sign it!

Harrison said Trueman informed Cas of his decision to leave the back end of last season.

He was on 'unders' at Cas. He's definitely had a substantial pay rise at Hull

I don’t think you will find too many rovers fans overly bothered about smith going to you guys, especially with the gap in between. Leaving us to go straight to you would have been ridiculous, but the man’s a coach and wants to coach so why does it matter now. It helps that we’ve moved on and seen life post tony smith and know there’s plenty to be excited about.

I wouldn’t have minded him staying though, brought our club together well and set us on an upward trajectory. Players seem bought in so should be good for that for you, as your players over the last few weeks look anything but bought in to be fair.

Coachings questionable at times, short plays and throwing it about in your own end. Not sure if you have the squad for that type of play immediately so could be some expectations managed, and if I had the patience or desire I’d be able to run back through these forums and find quote after quote of people laughing at rovers for calling him the messiah etc after defeats, the fickle world of sport

You could probably do better, but could do hell of a lot worse as well. Interesting to see contract length, only really wanted a 12 month rolling with us which was one of the fallouts with lakin who wanted him tied down longer to show commitment, hence why when it was clear we were looking at other options his dummy come out in that press conference

If the story is true that Griff told Hodge to love off at training, we should make Griff captain for his intuition qualities.

Decent halfbacks, especially ones that don't require a quota spot, aren't exactly plentiful so any that are available will attract premium prices.
Whatever his salary (numbers get thrown about all the time and I bet most are nonesense) only time will tell if its value for money.

Maybe just sorting out the back room staff?

Seen Thorman and Gene linked, is it either or both? With Ellis having a change of job

Think Davidson will come in and replace Hatton

Welcome Tony. Hope you like a challenge!
Positive appointment I think.
