He might think Hodgson is a "complete wet wipe" as a coach but Hodgson as a player has achieved things that player can only dream of.

If that player had a better attitude it would have made Hodgson's job a lot easier.

Hodgson is only part of the problem.

Leaving Wigan firstly on loan to Salford and then to us was a sign his ambition isn't that high, if you want to win things you don't leave Saints/Wigan/Leeds, we ended 2015 in 8th and while we had made some good signings for 2016 I don't think anyone was tipping us for a trophy, it was a step down for him at the time.

Edit: probably quoted the wrong post here, im not suggesting the mystery wedding guest was Taylor, ive no idea!

Hodgson to saints, winning them their 5th super League in a row in 2023 and making us realise he wasn't the problem all along?

(I know it won't happen, but I could imagine the saints players actually respecting him, buying into his philosophies and him succeeding there).

In 16 we had Ellis, Mini, Manu and Pritchard to keep people in check. We've no leaders, no one to call the shots. It feels like the lunatics are running the asylum

Hodgson is a decent person, let down by his senior players.
Those players might win the battle, but won’t win the war. Supporters can see it for what it is now.

While I agree he didn't help his cause bringing in Reynolds who isn't exactly Mr Professional and Gale just hasn't worked. Changing the Halves was a big opportunity to change the style of play and the culture.

If players are just doing what they want at the club, Pearson and Clarke both need to take responsibility as well. A head coach can onlu do so much but its the board who rip up contracts.

When Griffin tells the coach to F off and walks out of training, and all BH says is come back tomorrow with a better attitude, then maybe they are all at fault

Said a while ago that I’d have Hodgson as DOR, and Smith coaching the team. Looks like they were looking at doing it the other way around.

Whatever happens, if we get a new coach the pressure from the fans will be on the players. Hope they feel that because they sold Hodgson out in a big way from sounds of it.

Don't think Smith would take too kindly to working under someone. Its part of the reason things deteriorated at Rovers.

He wanted more involvement in the club, Lakin told him to concentrate on the team. The two of them kept butting heads.
