To the victor the spoils, we MUST win something in the next couple of years to break our hoodoo and establish us as a top side. We are the only side that has spent big that has won nothing in the superleague era, Hull, Warrington and Catalan have all managed it. Winning isn't everything, just 95% of it. We KNOW leutele is quality and that he has performed for us, it's not like spending big on someone who may or may not come off, was a no brainer to keep him whatever it took.
If whatever it takes is to make us weaker overall is that the whatever it takes you mean? It’s a balancing act. We currently have a squad not quite good enough. If we pay more to leutele we have to pay out less elsewhere and so the rest of our squad gets weaker, not stronger. And so we are even less good enough.
We had both McQueen and leutele we wanted to resign, McQueen has been fitter and we have kept his services. In an ideal non- salary capped sport we get to keep them both. We don’t have that.
