Just to clear up my sources I was told Wardle had signed for Wigan a good while ago now, just prior to the swap deal with Wire occurring.
This came from 2 lads that I used to coach that play with Wardle.
I was then at a work networking event a couple of weeks ago. I had my rugby league World Cup pin badge on, it usually stimulates a bit of conversation at such events, and ended up chatting to a lad with close links to Wardle away from the rugby pitch profession. I didn’t ask about the rumours on his future however as we were talking he told me that he had signed for Wigan and that there was interest from Melbourne however due to him having just had a baby he wanted. To remain in SL to be close to his support network.
He also told me the root cause behind the fall out with Watson was that he saw him as a right edge player whilst Wardle was adamant he wanted to play on the left.
Just for transparency purposes.
In regards any announcements it would be up to the Giants to announce, wherever he ends up, as he is contracted to them for the 23 season.
My main concern is the signing of King and if something had happened in regards that and if we retain French. I’m not sure I see a way we can retain French, sign King and also have space under the cap for Wardle so maybe the French factor should he retain may have an effect.
I guess time will tell.

Powell's comments yesterday about Wardle seem to point it not being a done deal, but who knows.
It will cause an eye-roll, but this is why I'm always pro announcements. If it's done, announce and move on imo.

I think that we need 2 centres for next season irrespective what happens to French so hopefully the Wardle deal is still on. By the way John I think that the vast majority of posters (including myself) implicitly trust your posts so if the deal does not come off for whatever reason I am sure that your sources where/are correct at the time you were advised of the move.

I hope your right and there is no reason you shouldn’t be given the quality information you have received. However, the guys you have spoken with may have misinterpreted signed for signing which would indicate that Wardle may still be available. Has Rogues not confirmed his signing to you? He is usually in the know.

I’ve heard it from several other sources as well but these are the ones closest to the situation as far as I see it.
Also FYI I never go round asking anyone anything specific about players or rumours it’s just what came up in conversation.
